The Epic Struggle Between Monorail and Duck Rages On

I caught a battle between duck and monorail today. Here are the pictures.

It takes about 4 or 5 honks on the horn to get the stupid duck to fly off the beam. They sure are gutsy.

I remember when I was there for POTC'S 40th and the Monorail almost came to a stop while dropping downward, above the old Motorboat Lagoon for a couple of ducks.

    This is just funny.

They appear to have been in attack formation. Either that, or in a rather fowl mood.

Looks like the ducks are winning.

I was going to ask the obvious question of how long they'll sit there with the duck not moving until they just give up and power ahead, but then I realized that if it wound up down there it could hit something and start a fire. :P

I'm losing my faith in the intelligence of ducks.

And if these ducks keep playing chicken, we'll see exactly how gutsy they are.

There's obviously too many of them for the property.

Its funny how it seems like we're just now noticing this. I wonder if filling the lagoon again has brought in a larger population of ducks...
I'm literally a born Disney fan! I was born at Providence St. Joseph Med Center right across the street from Disney Studios in Burbank. The same hospital where Walt died.

Possibly, but I suspect that they got into some bad habits while the Monorail was shutdown.

Having been the focus of an unprovoked duck attack (kudos to my then-roomate for risking life and limb to come to my rescue), I side with the monorail.

Still, you'd think those ducks would get down.

Re: The Epic Struggle Between Monorail and Duck Rages On

Just as a jet engine does not want to tangle with a large bird, the Monorail operators are being cautious not to allow the (bird-brained? *) ducks to get swept up into the train's air intake manifold - it could cause a LOT of damage... (not to mention to the duck!); Kudos to our vigilant Monarail Drivers for keeping a sharp eye out for Donald, Daisy, and the Kids: Huey, Dewey, and Louie...

    * Sorry Donald, but I am trying to picture something the size of a Football Stadium (duck vs. Monorail / Evil Queen vs. Football Stadium - yeah, I got that right...) SWOOSHING towards me on the sidewalk, and me just continuing along window shopping at a leisurely pace...

We are going to witness 'an accident' here eventually...

Good observation. Maybe they're annoyed with all the stuff happening on TSI so they moved east?
