    Lightbulb DCA Ski AREA?

    RIDE IDEAS FOR DCA

I was thinking DCA is suposed to show the amazing Natural areas of CA right???
WELL besides Grizzely Peak there are no Mountain rides.

so WHY DOESN'T DCA have some sort of ride that has a Ski resort theme theres Plenty of actual mountains in CA. Maybe a NEW coaster themed to a Ski lift on the new plot, OR possibly a Snow Mobiling Adventure ride in the propused area.

so what do you think Peep's???

PS this Winter Mt, is part of a larger DCA of the seasons concept Ive been working on.

also included in MY seasons park is the Mojave and the Sierra Nevadas

    Re: DCA Ski AREA?

    Yah I dig it!

I wrote some thoughts about it in another thread (i can't remember which one) where it's one area of California that they haven't addressed. Snow! A winter wonderland all year long? Now THAT'S actually something a lot of californians would flock to.

But hmmm... wat else could you have if the bobsleds are in disneyland?

Oh and haha it'd be one way to have the skyway make a return somehow.

    Re: DCA Ski AREA?

This is a great idea! And this would also bring in a lot of money too. I have spoken to guests who flew into LA from out of state and they are shocked that there is snow on our mountains. Disney should really advertise that there is skiing within two hours as well as beaches within 20 minutes of the resort. Yes, they would be encouraging their guests to go to these other places, but maybe these guests would extend their stays at a DLR hotel in order to do this. So I think it would be a great idea for Disney to do this.

Not only that, but an extra Mt. type ride would only be a plus for the park in general.

It almost seems like they could do a skiing mountain type ride much like Soarin'. Cold air blasting, spills & Chills. Could be a real winner.

    ....

I think a WINTER SPORTS area would be fun, with the
BlizzardBeach style snow covered roofs and a big mountain with some sort of ride(s) based on skiing, snowboarding etc. You could ride a ski chair up the mountain and stand on your feet with skis in tracks and have a skitopia ride maybe. You just stay standing up and it takes you skiing down the track.

Of course you have to be able to stay standing on your own feet to ride. If you're too small, too weak, too fat, sorry you can't ride. But 99% of us could!

Another snow cover mountain would be to close to looking like just another matterhorn. DCA needs something more like BTMRR.

i totally agree. Did you knw that we Californians also have the tallest mountain in the lower 48 states. They could build to look like Mount Whitney.

Mt.Whitney off the 395 to Mammoth right? Funny you should post this because my dad was killed in a plane crash about 10 years ago in those same mountains. Small plane crash with only one survivor out of 3.

    Re: DCA Ski AREA?

Honestly, I'll take almost any kind of a cool new themed ride in DCA. That place could use way more thrills and less shops. I totally support your idea DznyFan17 because it does sound pretty cool.

Also, sorry to hear that snappy.

    Re: DCA Ski AREA?

Well the whole winter land should be elevated and be the highest point in the park. I really don't think we need another mountain rollercoaster (though it would be awesome). I think they could go with something similar to "journey into the center of the earth" at Disney Sea or something like that.

But you know... this will never happen. Maybe if they put this area where the bad part of paradise pier is. Then they can build the mountain all the way over to where paradise pier hotel is and REALLy make it a ski resort idea (tear down the hotel and rebuild further back). They can make a tunnel for Disneyland Drive to go through too.

p.s. sorry to hear that, snappy.

    Re: DCA Ski AREA?

OK so let's not make it look like Mt. Whitney for OBVIOUS reasons as stated above. How about it looks like Lassen Peak (volcano) with a journey to the center of the earth inside.... and skiing on the outside.
