A few days ago my wife said to me, 'You know David - Grant has been to Disneyland 7 times and has never met Mickey Mouse. He really needs to meet Mickey Mouse and we need to get some pictures of it." I agreed.
So, Wednesday, April 25, 2007 (Grant's 8th trip) would be the day that 6 1/2 month old Grant would meet Mickey Mouse. And here's our report:
We woke up early enough to get ourselves a bowl of Corn Flakes, some Orange Juice and quick showers and then headed to our neighborhood "It's A Grind" coffee house to get our caffeine fix.
We made it to the Westbound 91 Freeway at approximately 8:40am - only to see bumper to bumper traffic. But that was OK - we have Fastrak. For those of you unaware of Fastrak - it's the Toll Road on the 91 Freeway.
Grant started his ride out with a quick nap
We finally made it to Disneyland around 9:35am or so. Hopped the tram we saw and headed into Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom.
Here's a picture of Grant and Me on Main Street
We finally made our way over to Toontown to go to Mickey's house. Here's my wife and son outside of Mickey Mouse's house in Toontown.
Family shot while waiting in line for our moment with Mickey
....and with the help of Mommy, Grant finally meets Mickey Mouse!!!
After meeting Mickey, we departed Toontown and headed for "It's A Small World".
Here's a couple of shots of me holding Grant outside IASW:
We don't know why we didn't think of this before meeting Mickey, but afterward we got Grant his first set of Mickey Ears - and he wore them in line for ISAW.
Because there is no 'flash photography' in IASW, we took a couple of quick photos as we entered the 'depths'.
Would you believe that after It's A Small World, Grant was ready for a nap? My plans of taking him on Alice in Wonderland and Storybook Canal Boats flew right out the window. Oh well - we have AP's, so we can come again in a week or so if we want too.
So, Grant went down for his nap around 11:15 am:
My wife and I shopped on Main Street a bit with the idea of eating lunch at Plaza Inn - but it was closed - getting ready for Lunch I guess. We didn't want to wait 30 minutes, so we headed out to Downtown Disney toward Rainforest Cafe.
On our way, @ Jazz Kitchen, we saw a group of "The Red Hat Society" ladies having a luncheon. Ooo la la.
Lunch came and went. While at Rainforest Cafe, Grant woke up for some sweet potatoes - he loves those. But after lunch, I guess it was time for 'dreamland' once again:
And so this concludes my little Disneyland Trip Report for April 25, 2007.
I hope you enjoyed it!
