    New rafts for Splash?

    From MasterGraceys photos 4/26:
    Splash was testing..

These two pictures have two different rafts. The top looks more like the WDW MK side by side raft seats, the bottom is what has been in place at DL to date.....
What is up with these pictures?

I think what you're seeing in the top pic is two rows of dummy weights tied to the one row of seat backs?
    Disney FAQ#275: What is DCA?
DCA stands for Disney Construction Area. All the Cast Members are themed with hard hats and steel toed boots.

That's what it looks like to me. The space looks way too narrow to have a log that is from WDW. Weird.

I think that you are right (and it looks as though the 'dummy weights' got a bit jostled side to side going through the ride...)

I remember the original "front-to-back bench" style seats - that only had back rests behind the 3rd and 5th rider...

If you look between the water dummies you can clearly see the backrests for each seat. They did not change the logs.

Yes those are fake dummies you see, not the live dummies that normally sit in those seats.

Yup, those are only narrow plastic tanks filled with water. It's the same ol' logs that we know and love.

they dont have legs nor can they block it from moving it left and right. Probably had to lean on one side. Then it would look like its a double seater.

yeah those logs just have dummies, you can see the old seats in there. I don't think there would be any way to get two rows of seats in our ride unless they revamped the enitre track and made it wider. Our track is too narrow to accomodate the double seaters. I like the WDW ones. Just wish they could make the back rests a bit wider since they are really uncomfortable.

Those two logs are the same. One just has water dummies in it, and the other one doesn't.

The way the water dummies are shaped prevents them from facing forward on the Splash seating, so they turn them sideways so that they fit, and they stagger their direction, to distribute the weight evenly.
