so I went down to TDA to reapply...

Now, I worked in the parks for 4 years, mostly in DCA Stores as a trainer and a fun loving carny for the Midway Games. I was/am the Last King of Reboundo.

Almost even made lead. just had to finish my Lead Development class.

I quit almost one year ago and took my famous Walt picture...

So my friend and I both go to TDA, him working on the Cruise Line for 2 years and me with my experiance.

We both figure we'll be Character Hosts as just a change from what we originally did.

We do the appliation. Watch the pre-hire video( i know at least 7 people they show in it) then we get to the Online Personality Quiz portion.

    I failed it.

Apparently, the standards have changed so much in my year-long absence that I'm not welcome anymore.

heh, and here i thought i was doing them a favor by coming back

Haha you're supposed to answer the questions the way you think TDA wants you to. The way I see it the best cast members are probably the ones who fail the test!

Can you give us more info on what kind of questions are on the test and how you answered? I've never even heard of it. How do they break the news that their automated quiz doesn't like you? Haha how does a quiz figure out your personality? Shouldn't people be doing that?

Not to sound mean, but if you really have that type of attitude, as if you "know it all" and should auto-rehire... maybe it's not time for you to come back.

    Just my POV.

Yeah, you have to always be 'positive' on those tests.

Actually, on the majority of these tests, you cannot manipulate them. They ask you tons of questions, all worded differently, but essentially the same 20 questions. You can only pass it you answer honestly and consistently.

    Actually, that's not exactly true.

Having programmed the scoring of a similar test, it's rather important to show a positive attitude, not to overidealize yourself (it looks for people seeming too good). and to be fairly consistent in your answers to similar questions but not exactly the same (as Max suggests).

Also, read carefully, typically a few questions are worded so as to appear superficially like another question but are actually reversed in the sense of positive bs negative.

I never got the point of those stupid tests anyway!

I took one online for Home Depot and the majority of it was on stealing from or cheating the company. I know people with records that work there! What the hell did I do wrong? It didn't come right out and say I failed, but it was ridiculous - and I never got called - even with years of retail experience. The first one I ever took was for Kinkos before they merged with Fed Ex... It was via a telephone connection... I hung up on about the 50th question - I was told at that point I was only like 25% of the way thru! In order to sit thru one of those tests I guess you really have to want the job!

For those of you who are curious, you can find a link to the test that Disney uses here. Just go to Step 5 of the process. If you're planning on going to Casting to apply anyway, it doesn't hurt to do the test beforehand. It signifcantly shortens the process.

How the heck did you fail the personality test? :O

I just recently reapplied myself along with my roommate, both of us ex-Cast Members. They welcomed us with open arms (sorta, Costuming had some issues that we had to clear up) and they gave us a pick of whatever department we wanted that offerred the new "CR-SS" job classification.

"CR-SS" = same benefits as being a CR (admission, sign-ins, discounts, etc.) but you only have to work Saturdays and Sundays. No shifts will be scheduled Monday-Friday unless specifically requested by the Cast Member.

Those tests are so pointless. My fiance too one of those tests a couple of years ago and it was the first time she had ever taken a test like that and when she failed she was told she was "too honest".

Another thing that bothers me now about alot of jobs is that they check your credit history too. If you have bad credit you won't get the job in alot of cases which I think really sucks because I don't see what your past credit history has anything to do with your ability to get a job. It's almost like a catch 22 situation. You are trying to get a job so you can repair your credit but because of your credit you can't get a job.

OMG thank you for posting this! Finally! After 52 years they recognize how many of us former Full Timers want to come back to supplement our day jobs but are only available weekends! Hooray!

However, I'm trying to figure out how CR-SS would be step above CT. Thoughts?

You get a Main Gate Pass good for yourself and 3 Guests or your maximum dependents that you can use 16 times per year. You also get invited to the Cast Christmas Party, which CT's don't get invited to. You get some Holiday Pay, not as many as a Full Timer, but CT's get no Holiday pay. And you get the chance to eat a lot more meals at the InnBetween than CT's get.
