I agree with you about the Janet Jackson Mickey GC. It is kinda cute, and harkens her more innocent days.

Here is the list of my favorites that have yet to be mentioned (I think):

    Wyland: "Undersea Mickey"
    Dave Willardson: "Flying Colors #3"
Lri Tyminski: "Funny Pages" (It kinda reminds me of cookies & cream ice cream.)
    Luis Fernandez: "Circle Vision"
    Sir Elton John: "Music Royalty"
    Tom Hanks: "Space Mouse"

Of the ones that were already mentioned, I really love Olli's and Dave Koz's. Ming-Na's was cute too. Add Star Jones to the list of ugly statues. Just a tad too much animal print fo rmy taste.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

You know, maybe I'm just mean, but I didn't like a one of them. I felt they were not original at all. I mean how many times can you see baseball mickey?

i havent seen them yet, but i look forward to going sometime next week! are they really spread out around the park? or are they kinda like in a general area of each other?
I find signatures are overrated. Except for this one.

DF89: They begin at the gate (DCA) then congregate at the fountain...then down the promrnade past Griz and Bugs...then toward Golden Dreams and then congregate again at the water edge amphetheater. Plus there are a couple in DTD.

They pulled that Mickey from the tour and the site... but I believe it may still be on the site *somewhere.* It got replaced with one of the extra ones that they had just in case one got damaged.

    My faves:

Wayne Brady - "Extended Play" (Hey, I'm a gamer... besides, it also reminds me of the Future Mickey in the Disney Magical Collection from Japan)
Peter & Harrison Ellenshaw - "Mickey's Dream" (Always have loved Peter's work)
Syd Mead - "Tron Mickey" (Not my fave, but I love Tron )

That's about all I liked... I don't really like them much in the end. It's obvious that some of them were trying to force their ideas to work.

Being an Ellinshaw fan (both of 'em) for many years, it's hard for me to say but their Mickey looked a bit sloppy and not up to standard. Same comment for the Wyland...both looked 'rushed' and slapdash.

I really liked some of the air brushing though on a few (like the already mentioned Lobster) with many hours of attention paid to the task.

I like the wooden mickey painting himself (Home Depot). He's on the parade route by the grizzly waterfall-side winery entrance.

Edit: thanks for the hi-res image link!

Here's a much better page with high-res pictures of all the Mickeys if you click on them:
    https://licensing.disney.com/Login/a...AllStatues.jsp

Janet's was removed from the index, but is still hiding on the web server:
    https://licensing.disney.com/Login/a...e=janetJackson

I like this one for being colorful and still tasteful (glares at Rosie's) and because I'm a nut for the old Mickey eyeballs. I like Tom Hanks' one, too. And the Janet one is decent, not just because of the taboo factor but the leather outfit is different and interesting and they pulled it off well. Most confusing one is this one, because the guy behind it is a graphics professional, and it appears he did absolutely nothing with the statue.

My personal favorite however, is TRON Mickey. Awww, yeah.

MickeyMania... this is one you have to look on the back. There is a faded reflecton of the front on the back.

I am partial to the one with the broken off arm that some rowdy children mauled last week. Are protective ropes that expensive, DCA?

My fav is the the Kodak one. And I REALLY, REALLY think that star jones needs to stay away from ever designing ANYTHING AGAIN!!!!!

WDW had barracades around them when I went in May. I wonder why DCA doesn't have them. WDW even had CM's walking around them to make sure that nobody fooled with them.
