Just wondering what time they close tonight, Friday May 11th. I am hoping to get some dinner there!

You may be right. It isn't a peak weekend...

I've always know....7PM unless prior arrangements have been made (for large Micechat groups). Disney Dining wouldn't have any way of knowing.....no priority seating there.
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

I decided to call the hotel. 7am-7pm daily. Oh well, maybe some other time!

Whitewater Snacks should be open 24/7 and marketed to hotel guests. At least that's what I would do. It's basically a fancy 7-11.

Where exactly is Whitewater? I've been to Storytellers but not Whitewater.

Take the sidewalk by Storyteller's all the way around the pool, past Napa Rose, past the DCA entrance, past the spa, past the bathrooms, and at the end is Whitewater
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

And around the next corner is China!

Is the food worth that long walk? I had the absolute worst meal of my life at Jazz Kitchen last week and think it would be a rather novel idea for Disneyland to serve edible food somewhere. I seriously can't ever remember having a decent meal at the resort since I was like 5 and am unwilling to pay the prices of Catal or Napa Rose considering my past experiences.

I have had no issues with food unless I go to RedRockets or something. There are plenty of places in the entire resort that serve edible food.

Oh, and thanks to NeverNeverLand for telling us where White Water Snacks is...I had wondered myself....and now I know.

It may SEEM like a long walk, but it really isn't. I mean, from DL or whatever, sure, but it's really not a hassle.

WWS is actually VERY good. They have a wide variety - from nachos to pizza, burgers, chicken sandwiches plus cold sandwiches, salads, etc. It seems better, hotter, than some place inside the park.
The service can be slow but it's one of my favorite on property place for a "quick service" type of meal.
It's worth a try - after all, it can't get much worse if none of the of the food is edible to you.

Jazz Kitchen isn't a DL restaurant, BTW. I've never eaten there so I can't comment on the food.

Re: What time does White Water Snacks close?

I probably should have noted that I'm a pesco vegetarian (otherwise known as "When I damn well feel like it" vegetarians) so my food choices are fairly limited. I don't eat red meat, poultry, or dairy products. But it still sounds like the trip around the world is worth it, so maybe I'll give it a look.

And on a side note, is there some sort of central kitchen for the Downtown Disney restaurants? I noticed they were bringing the food into Jazz Kitchen from outside in those hospital-type food containers. Even though they're not run by Disney, I'd like know if I should avoid all those middle-tier restaurants in DTD. I'm not putting anything in my mouth again that might have touched Jazz Kitchen food.

I have never heard of Pesco Vegetarian. It's interesting. What is the difference between a Vegan and Pesco?

    I only eat attractive animals.

But really, vegans won't use any animals products at all, be it meat, leather, or anything else. Pesco vegetarians, derived from the Latin piscis, usually will eat fish and other seafood but not other types of meat or dairy products.

Mostly I'm against the idea of farming and not the actual practice of eating animals, which is why I rarely even eat fish since most fish is farmed nowadays.

And now I sound all preachy...
