Just got home from a fun filled day spent at Dodger Stadium and DL. I'm beat. So we decided to head to the park because they were supposed to release the Star Wars pins but they were pushed back so we walked around and went on POTC. I SWEAR.....that the 3rd Jack has been changed to a normal un-smiley Jack. My wife thinks I'm crazy but I always "hate" on how bad the 3rd one looks. It looked sooo much better today!!! Maybe one too many Dodger Dogs??? Let me know guys!!!

No, you're not going crazy! Everything you think has changed has changed. In fact long after attractions open to the public Imagineers will go in and change random things for no reason just to confound the casual visitor. There are over 500 full-time employees dedicated to this task and go to work every night after the park is closed and change things to their heart's content.
Sam mentioned this to me yesterday and when we went to ride - it was down.
So I can not confirm it this firsthand but Sam is sure the last Jack Sparrow AA has been modified and looks better now.

Yes it has been changed. It's been like that since last wednesday.
I'm not sure I'd put it down to playful caprice. I think the Imagineers look for feedback from the live show just like everyone else. You can test all you want beforehand, but there's nothing like the real thing. They must have agreed with those who thought it didn't look quite as good as the other Jacks, and tweaked it.
I really want to see pics...this sounds interesting.
