I was able to make it to my second Noon meet. There were more Micechatters there than I expected. We decided to go because as it was Jennifer's birthday and she wanted her free package of tortillas
Parked in the structure and then walked to DTD so we could take the monorail in. We got to the hub just before Noon and I spotted Sadako and PEZZ.
Sorry, I don't remember everyone's name and I've cheated by looking at other's meet reports posted today
Here is Sadako, DeeOhGee's Mom, and Tolkius sitting on the bench.
Thanks to their suggestion, Jennifer and I walked over to the time board and got her birthday button from a CM. No muss no fuss.
HauntedMansionMike (looking good in his hot dog hat) and TheRockr.
Is PEZZLightyear keeping Sam upright?
FilmFreak and DisneyIPresume
Here are some of the men of Micechat. They look like they are in a lineup lady3jane is looking on.
Lynn, Renaissance Woman joined the group. She has known my brother, Lost Boy, for over 30 years so we had a nice chat. New member LostBoy75 is in the blue shirt.
We waited and waited for Barfy to show up so we could give him a card we all signed. Finally decided to sing Happy Birthday to him (in absentia) in honor of his big day. Next, we decided to brave the crowds through Adventureland and ride Splash Mountain.
But, alas, all we could do was stand in front of it. It was not running.
Here are some photos I took along the way of the POCAWE set up
Everyone decided it was time to head to DCA and The Cove Bar. But first we had to fight our way through the streets of New Orleans.
And then we stopped for a conversation at Aladdin's Oasis with Kazoo.
Other than the mess over in Adventureland and NOS the park was lighter than I expected for Mother's Day. And the weather was great.
We joined some of the group at The Cove Bar but then bid them our farewell as we decided we wanted to try some of the food over at the Food Festival. It was real nice seeing some of you and Jennifer enjoyed meeting you also.
After eating in DCA (the Cheddar Soup in a bread bowl is really good) and seeing Crush we went back to Disneyland. We noticed dark smoke in the distance. Turns out a warehouse in Fullerton caught fire around 2 PM. If you look closely you can see the darkness low in the sky behind the castle.
On our way to see Billy Hill we saw this group. I don't what they are called.
Next I took some photos of that ship thing on the barge. Hummmm, "ship thing on a barge" ... sounds catchy
My daughter had gone in to the saloon and scored the seats right next to the stage for the Billy Hill show.
He did his Elvis routine which is always good and came over and sang to us
And he put in those teeth
I do not know how to get a video on a thread, so here is a link to a video I took of him performing.
I'm always taking pictures of flowers around the park.
By the hub
In DCA between the wharf area and Bugs Land
Roses by the castle
Next I tried to get some reflection shots.
I liked the symmetry of this one.
This duck was chillin' at the edge of the moat. We noticed a lot of confetti in the bushes. I think they had a private Pirate event there put on by a local radio station the other night and perhaps they shot it off at that time.
And my final shot is of my daughter as we ride on the fire truck back down Main Street to leave. She does not like to have me take her picture, hence she is telling me no. Tough
A nice Mother's Day at the park and a good birthday for my Mother's Day born daughter.
