3 hour parking at DL for tonight

We are getting to DL around 5 pm tonight for a short trip. We want to take the monorail in. Can we park in the short term DTD parking if we leave within 3 hours? How does that work? Thanks!

There are signs that say the Downtown Disney parking lot is not for theme park parking. Whether you want to follow that rule or not is up to you.

The DTD parking lot is free the first 3 hours. I dont believe you need any validation or anything and I believe its $5 after the 3 hours are up, but I'm not 100% sure on that part-

If you get your parking ticket validated at a restaurant or AMC you get 5 hours free. Some places are very strict about making sure you buy something there in order to get your ticket validated.

    Melis,

I would totally just park in DTD, how they would know (or give a crap) that you stopped in DLR is beyond me. I have done this several times, and stayed within the free parking parameter and it was cool.

Worse case scenario, don't get your parking validated, bring some sucs and other RSI meds, and just take out the parking attendant.

3 hrs free or 5 hrs validated. It's a good deal either way.

I almost always park in DTD. Make sure you get that validation though. It $2 every 20 minutes after three hours without validation.

I think we are for sure going to eat after we hit the park. My grandfather died on Sunday night and this is kind of a cheer-myself-up trip before all of my family comes tomorrow.

We do that all the time. I usually go to Goofys kitchen to validate and its 5hrs free. We usually only stay for 3-4 hrs anyways. But ifyou are staying the whole day its not worth it. Theres no rule that you can't park there if you are going to DL or DCA. Its jsut not recommended since most people stay longer than 3 hrs and it cost like $6 an hr and max is $36 a day.

We got to the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure last night around 5:30, and there were no parking attendants at the toll booths.

It depends a little on how busy the park is, and when the park closes, but they usually stop charging for parking 2-3 hours before park closing.

So if you prefer to park in the structure, then I'd suggest going to see if they're even charging. If they are, then turn around and exit and head over to Downtown Disney.

The point isn't to get free parking, it's to avoid the tram and be dropped off right inside of Tomorrowland. I have parking on my AP, but I will park in Downtown Disney whenever I will be there for a couple hours.
