So is that the trick? Has the balcony viewing of Fantasmic become another perk of being a Club33 member?

I think Disney would lose too much money by doing it that way. That Balcony is almost always booked solid. But ya never know

In a post a while back I remember seeing that the new show on TSI could possibly interact with NOS, there could possibly be objects on the roof which "fall" or interact. They may be seeing if it's still safe or not to have Viewing on the Balcony, they could of also added more show to Fantasmic! since it went down which does the same...just a thought.

I think Al's most recent update said they decided to drop this idea.

    Re: no balcony for fantasmic

Personally, I am hoping the balcony seating returns when they get through with the work in the Gallery and around TSI. We will be going in September and it was going to be on our to-do list. I have only walked through the crowd during the performance... never stopped to watch the whole show. My daughter was small and it looked like it might be pretty intense. I also could not imagine staking out a perfect spot hours ahead of time. Now that my daughter is older, I thought the balcony seating would offer a great seat without having to arrive way before the show. We also thought it would be quieter. The added dessert buffet seemed like a nice little perk. So, yes, we were willing to shell out the extra bucks to add a little something to make our first time to see the show a little special. I guess we will still consider riverside but am very sure we would not even bother taking in the show if we had to stake out a spot. I am sure this is why paying for seating appeals to some others.

    Re: no balcony for fantasmic

Well, I'm a little dissapointed. We were going to treat Grandma who hasn't been to Disneyland in decades and thought it would be a nice evening. We're not going till October so I'll cross my fingers and we'll see what happens. When I was trying to find out how close to our vacation I could book the event, the person on the phone (not the normal chipper CM) just said the balcony was "unavailable." Frankly if we're going to spend the money it doesn't seem worth it to pay the same amount and not be on the balcony with the additional service. We would just op to do something else. What other kind of fun things to do are there as an extra special buy-in? On our last trip two years ago we took the Walk in Walts Footsteps tour and had a great time. We don't have ten years to wait to get accepted into club 33.

Also, not everyone has seen Fantasmic a ton of times....as you have. Some people only get to visit Disneyland once in their life. It's their vacation....apparently some want to do extra stuff. How is that wrong or bad??
    I agree.
I wouldn't spend the money on the balcony.
I like being up close, so I chose to sit for 3 hours and hold a spot.

Some people prefer certain things. Thank goodness! If we all liked the same stuff we'd be in trouble.

I just made Reservations for myself on July 3rd. I haven't been to the park since Pocahontas. I think I'll like the waters edge seating better than the balcony would have been. I was 14 then and now I'm 25. Whoa, time flys. I'm so excited!!! ;D

    Re: no balcony for fantasmic

We have tried both the Balcony and the waterfront seating I like them both a lot, but then again I really like my personal space. I am fine standing in lines, but waiting for Fantasmic can get very social...
For me it is all about not wasting 3 hours of my precious Disneyland time waiting for a show, when I could be going on rides instead.

Have fun at the waterfront, it is an amazing experience!

Call 714-781-4400 one month prior. Its $60 per person, $50 for 3-9yo.
If you see a cute yellow lab puppy with a yellow cape, WAVE! It might be us! (Or it may be someone else that lurks here!) Thank you for asking before you pet! Next trip, Dec 22-Jan 3rd.
