Smile Refresh me... Disney Dining Plan?

OK.. I was scootin' around the Disneyland.com site and I came across the Disney Dining Plan. DO you have to book a whole package through Disneyland.com or AAA in or to get it? Is it available on it's own?

Any info you wanna throw my way? Have you used it it? Was it worth it? Exactly how much does it run per day? Whoot!

    Thanks guys!

To live would be an awfully big adventure.

It does not save you any money. It is dollar for dollar. You can call WDTC and order just the dining plan or go to WDTC in DTD and purchase it. But it does not save you money.
If you see a cute yellow lab puppy with a yellow cape, WAVE! It might be us! (Or it may be someone else that lurks here!) Thank you for asking before you pet! Next trip, Dec 22-Jan 3rd.

Some reasons people buy the dining plan:

    1) Keeps you on budget since you have prepaid for food

    2) You prepay for your food and receive vouchers. If you have kids that may run the park without you, you can make sure they actually eat instead of using cash designated for food for souvenirs instead.

    3) You can bundle the cost of the dining plan with the other trip costs and if using WDTC or AAA and you pay for the trip using your Disney Visa you can have 6 months to pay off the trip at 0% interest.

Other than that they are not a way to save money.

    Ahhhh. Thanks Earky!

I do remember reading on some post a while ago that the meal vouchers can be used at resturants too and they include an appetizer and dessert in the voucher.. is that true?

    I can't remember where I read that.

Has anyone ever used the vouchers? The good? The bad? The ugly?
