Batsday was slightly more fun the first 3 or so years when I seemingly knew everyone in the park wearing black. It's still lots of fun though. It's also quite amazing the strong overlap between Disney nuts and goths.
Likely no one will notice the goths this year. They'll just think the park has a few extra pirates.

Oh, well no wonder all the goth people are at disneyland on my birthday![]()
My Husband and I are teachers and we keep forgetting the date. Thanks you guys. We won't forget this year.
I know you,I walked with you once apon a dream. See ya at the park! BFA. (Black Family Alert).
We'll be there this year just as we have for the previous four. Bats Day weekend is our favorite time of the year. There aren't a lot of goths where we live so it's very cool to mingle with so many that share our interests. We've made lots of friends that look we forward to seeing each summer. The pre events are as much fun as Bats Day itself. We are very well behaved, poilte, and fun group.
I thought they chose that day because it's the first non-blackout day for the deluxe passes.

That's why I wore this t-shirt last Bat's Day:

Most of the Goths would be wearing black anyway no matter where they were. I would. True, there are a few that go hard core and show up in leather or vinyl, but you'll find that most of us wear more comfortable "summer black" and carry parasols of course.
Really? Just a scan of the threads from the past shows a lot of discussion (and many photographs) from past Bat's Days. At the very least there is a major intersection because the weekly Micechat meet is always on a Sunday, just like Bat's Day.
I usually try to avoid DL in the summer -- I dislike perspiring and burning my skin (and I can burn in less than five minutes that time of year). But this year will be my third Bat's Day. The first was something of a fluke -- we were going up there for another reason the night before and met up with some friends who were in the park for Bat's Day. And had a blast. The next year we planned it, and our friends (who were the real instigators) brought other friends, one of whom turned out to be someone we hadn't seen in several years. Now we've made a good re-connection.
I'm looking forward to this year's Bat's Day.
Re: Bat's day 2007 I really hated hearing the rude comments from the uneducated masses. Just because a person looks different doesn't give someone license to be a jerk. So sad that even in Disneyland there are people that have to put someone down to make thier lowly lives seem better.
Still loads and loads of fun![/quote]
This year was my first bats day... There were a lot of "normies" looking and a few kids were pointing (wich is no biggie) but there were the handfull of adults that actually said hurtful things.... Example: I was in the smoking pit across from the haunted mansion and the pit was FULL of goths i saw a family walk by and the little girl asked "who are all those people?" and the guy (im guessing her dad) said "those arent people they are ANIMALS!" he litterally turned his head towards everyone and yelled animals!!!! I was so upset from it i was like an inch away from pouncing on him... BUT that disney drug was in me and i just stayed put and finished my cigarette.
