That's great. I think I've heard the canary thing before.

I can't believe CMs get to keep unclaimed cash! That seems kind of bizarre.

A bit suspicious if you ask me: "Oh yeah. This is..... um....unclaimed."

I wonder if just the nasty stuff gets donated. The diamond watches and gold buillions are for the taking. ;-)

Does that last little part of the article indicate that if they find something nice and put their name on it that everyone in the lost and found knows not to give it back because someone there wants it? That probably a really negative outlook to have, but I'm just curious.

"I got a beautiful watch,” she says. “It has little diamond sets on either side. I wasn't supposed to, but I put my name on it, and it was unclaimed.” After all that time, she says, sometimes finders get to be keepers.
