Fantasmic Firewater Does anybody know how in the world they set the rivers of america on fire during fantasmic?? I was totally amazed by this when I saw it. Do they spray out some sort of lighter-than-water flammable chemical that stays on the surface and just ignite it or what?
They have gas that bubbles up under the water. Before the fire is lit you can see the bubbles where the fire will be
Doesn't this pollute the rivers/hurt the fish in there at all? And how do they ignite it?

To light it they must just spark the gas somewhere.
As for pollution... they probably burn up the majority of the gas that gets released.

We used to have to close Storybook every so often after they would add chemicals or dye the water and go around scooping out dead fish that were floating everywhere. There are more than you would think there would be in that water. Eww it was gross. One time I was making a trip when a kid on my boat point out one fish who had been chopped in half over by Alladin's Castle. Just what you want a kid to see there.

As for the ducks, they are pretty well trained. My understanding is at a certain point at the beginning of the show, the birds associate the start with being fed and move to the back side of ROA where they get fed. They are pretty well trained, save for a lone few who know where not to be.I'm pretty sure they don't stock the river with fish. I'd be more worried about the ducks

There are gas lines under the water. As lilypad mentioned^, there are bubbles, but it's from the gas being blown out of the lines below the surface. As for it harming the fish, don't think so. And I do believe there ARE fish in the ROA.

I heard they used to let people fish in the ROA but dead fish kept getting dumped in bins and fishers would clog up the shores.

Yes, they used to stock it with catfish, but people would leave their catch out in the sun. Stinky.
As for fish in the present day, there are very small anchovy-style fish that hang out by fowler's harbor, but nothing else of considerable size.
They torch the river with two nozzles mounted on the island - one is in a box; the other is in a rock.
Make something Idiot-Proof, and someone will build a better Idiot.
