What's causing Splash Mountain to break down so often??

I did get as far as the vultures on May 14th, and then Splash 101'd. So we got evacuated.
    I'll repost the pics...

And that was after being held up for a few minutes earlier in the building.

Monday of this week we tried again, but we got there just as Splash experienced a breakdown that lasted almost until park closing. No good.

Then today I happened to run into a good CM friend of mine who was kind enough to give me six Fastpasses for Splash Mountain that were all good starting at 3:20.

    See, here they are!

But we didn't get to use any of them, because Splash 101'd again. We stuck around to see what happened, but I had to leave at five. Strike three!

And now I hear from Uncle Theodore that he got evac'd from Splash too, on Thursday.

Can it be the new lifts that have been installed? Are the security sensors or whatever too sensitive and tripping? Or is it a different problem?

Most likely the new motors on the lift hills, they can have a tendancy to jam up since they are new. potc had the same problems when the replaced the motors.

Between your post and Daddy B's post with pictures and a video, we are seeing more of the backstage parts of this ride than ever before. Nice pictures and thanks for sharing. It's sometimes kind of fun when you are on a ride that breaks down and you can see things you normally don't get to see. Bad for the Park, but cool stuff for us.

Maybe back too soon from refurb

    Maybe some rusty CM's.

    Maybe a combination of both.

I think it's cascading more too, just needs to get the kinks out of it.

We went on Splash several times (maybe 3) in the last week, with no sign of any 101s. We must have been lucky!

When I went on it during the soft opening it did get stopped and started a few times. I ended up getting stopped right at the last drop hill towards the top - love the ride but not the best place to get stuck.

the reason it keeps going 101 is because of the new lift hill motors

New lift motors always are kinky during the first few weeks of their being in operation....thats what happens...they just have to break in...just like a new pair of shoes....it should be all gravey within a week or so...hopefully it works fine when i get there on wednesday!!

I also could be the new sensors they installed on the hills of some sections...those can trip easily for the first few weeks for the same reasons...

First time I rode it after it opened again, most of the character's mouthes didnt move or didnt sync with their audio.
