    How Many Hillbillies?

Are there different sets of Billy Hill and the Hillbillies? I was there last week Friday during the day and saw a late afternoon show. Just wondered if they have at least two groups of Hillbillies. I can't imagine that these guys would come in to work everyday for 7 days a week. How often do they appear?

Anyway, the group I saw was great. Anyone have a list of all the Disney-type jokes they tell?

Here's a pic of the group I saw (copyright - Aniko)

That group is the Billy Greenteam. There are 8 Billy's:Kirk Wall, guitar and fiddle, five days a week, Dennis Fetchet, fiddle, and mandolin 5 days a week, John Marshall, bass 5 days a week, Duane Michaels, mandolin and fiddle, five days a week, John Eaden, lead and guitar two days a week, Rick Storey, banjo and guitar, two days a week, Anders Swanson, bass and fiddle,, two days a week, John David, guitar and banjo, two days a week. In your photo.in the center with the black hat is John Eaden, to the left is John Marshall, to the far left is Duane Micheals, and to the far right is John David. (I think I am right.)

ETA = John Eaden can also be seen performing with Laughing Stock before Billy performances.

I've seen this group on the odd weekday but have seen many shows by the other group on the weekends. Both are great but the group you saw did more audience participation than the group that does the Beatles selections, etc.

Both are soooo worth the time in line to see.....Disneyland needs more live entertainment again!!!

There are two groups that I know of. The one you saw is very good but they are not my favorites. The two groups do different shows, which is a good thing otherwise there would be too much comparison going on as to who did what song better, etc.

Here is a picture I took last time we were there of part of the other group, the one I like the best.

    Thanks for the detailed info!

I really liked John Eaden. He was very funny both in dialogue and body language. He just seemed to have that perfect "awe shucks" type of character on stage. I haven't seen the other Billy's, so I can't compare him to the other headliners.

He literally busted the place up when he gave a guest volunteer a packet of Parmesan cheese as a parting gift by saying, "Believe me, it's the only free thing you'll ever get at Disneyland today."

I worked with John Eaden on the Main Street Electrical Parade. If my memory is correct (not necessarily a valid assumption), he started as a toy soldier and then became a Small World arch pusher.

I've also seen him a few times on the soap opera, General Hospital. He had very small parts as a hotel worker.

John is a truly nice person and a great performer.

I really liked John Eaden. So much so, it was hard for me to like Kirk. But, after seeing Kirk's routine, I found I liked them both. Both shows are a blast, and have similarities. And the show varies anyway depending on which Billy's are there. Its always got something for everyone.

OT, but that's a nice, new backdrop they have there! When did they get that?

It has to be within the last few months cause I saw them at the beginning of April....
