I like our castle. I haven't been to Tokyo, but I found Cinderella's Castle in Florida to be intimidating and off-putting. Ours is much friendlier.

I have admit, though I do want to see TDL (and especially TDS), my interest is for cultural reasons. From all the pictures and reports, I think I prefer Walt's original. But TDS, that's a whole different story. I can't wait to try it out.

    Thanks for sharing.

Great trip report! It makes me want to go there badly, but I don't see it happening for a few years. LOL! Oh well, I can live vicariously through trip reports. Thanks for sharing this with us!

If it was just Tokyo Disneyland I wouldn't have gone. I spent roughly 20 hours in Disney Sea and 8 in TDL.

Wednesday: Arrive and use TDL Starlight Passport

Thursday: Full day at Disney Sea with a 1 hour break (1 hour of early entry by the way, did Indiana Jones, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Sinbad, and Raging Spirits before 10AM)

Friday: Day trip to Tokyo, came back for a break, then a night trip to Tokyo

Saturday: Day trip about an hour south of Tokyo, break, then night at Disney Sea

Sunday: Day at TDL, night at Disney Sea

    Monday: Come home

Im guessing the HM is much like MK's with the library and such being on the actual ride part and not the queue.

Great pics and report so far! cant wait for the rest.

We are currently saving now so we can go to HKDL and TDL/TDS in a couple of years. Would you say from your experience it is worth it (as we may have to sacrifice a DL visit to make it so)?

Yeah but only three guys post in that Tokyo forum! Don't worry. I'll post my Disney Sea thread in there, or maybe I'll put it here and compare it to DCA

Don't ever tell me I don't have willpower because I only bashed DCA once the entire time I was in TDS.

I wouldn't go to Hong Kong Disneyland right now but a trip to TDR is definitely worth it. Sacrifice as many DL trips as you need to. I booked my airfare with JTB and stayed at the Tokyo Bay Hotel Tokyu. I have nothing but good things to say about either of them.

Hopefully Pooh will be open for you!

Well HKDL is a free stopover from the UK, so it would be rude not too!

    Toontown

Take our Toontown, switch the residential side with the downtown side, make it a little wider, and you've got TDL's Toontown. That's pretty much it. There's nothing really new here except that there's more room to walk. We walked through it but did not wait in line for any of the attractions here.

You don't go under train tracks to get there. It made me realize that part of DL's charm is its small size, and part of the fun for me is seeing how they get around those limitations with tricks like that. If they ever decide to build a new attraction it'll be interesting to see how they squeeze blood from a stone and create space for it.

You can see Space Mountain from Toontown. In fact it seemed like you could see Space Mountain from anywhere in the park. I guess since the buildings are spread more apart they lose control of sight lines.

Here you press the button to make Stitch poke his head out of the fire station. This isn't a good picture because it took forever to wait for someone to push the damn button so finally I did it myself and rushed back to take this picture. Then I left.

One of the most striking differences between DL and TDL is that the birds are not afraid of people as much as they are in America. This bird flew right into the fountain and swam around without a care in the world.

In fact many ducks and smaller birdswere making the rounds at various restuarants and searching for food under tables as the guests were sitting at them. Ducks would go right up to guests on benches and literally stand right next to their leg almost touching them.

My girlfriend saw a bird outsmart a little girl. The bird was trying to eat some popcorn on the ground and the girl started running and kicking at him. The bird tried to get the food but the girl kept bothering him.

So the bird flew into the bushes. The girl ran over and looked through the fence. While the girl was looking through the fence the bird came out of the other side of the bushes, picked up the popcorn, and flew away.

Yeah but I read that being rude is pretty fashionable at HKDL.

Give me a little while for Tomorrowland. It's going to be a big section.

Amazing pictures and great TR! I can't wait to visit TDL and TDS sometime in the future. Oh, and as for the train not circling the park, I believe there was some sort of issue with having the train circling the park... Some sort of obscure public transportation regulation or something.
