Hmmm...does this mean they're going to start giving AP discounts too? When we first visited with our APs, my husband asked if they gave discounts, and they told him not yet, but that they were going to get new registers that would allow them to give the discounts.
Yes, I agree that it will prob make the line go a little more slowly, but it's definitely a nice addition for those people who don't like to carry a lot of cash around.

Can someone please answer... Do not all registers in DLR take plastic? All the locations in WDW (that I have ever seen) have at least the handheld POS machines that take credit/etc. Do they not have these handhelds at DLR?
no most of the odv's do not take cards only cash!

I'll bet it will probably take longer to get a whip because there will be more people in line. The processing of the cards shouldn't take too much longer than cash and technically (I believe) you don't need a signature for purchases under $25.00. That doesn't mean that Disney won't require a signature.
I'm really surprised that there is even one place in the resort where you can't use a card. The technology is there and with the past administration being so key up sucking every last buck out of guests.

I was there wednesday and they gave me an AP discount. There is a yellow sign
above the new register that says the only discounts given are AP discounts and Cast Member discounts (or something like that).
