    Disney Waterpark

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but when the plans to build DCA were in effect, I remember several people telling me that they were also going to build a Disney Waterpark down the street or near the other parks. What happened with this. Was it all in my mind? I thought would have been cool. I would love to see Disneyland Resort expand big like WDW.

I think all plans for any new park have been put on indefinite hold, until they fix the major problems with DCA.

I think the main reason why the water park was put on hold initially was because of 9/11 and the tourist slow down afterward.

Oh yeah, correct me if I'm wrong people, but wasnt the water park supposed to be themed to Pooh's Hundred Acre Woods and be placed in the cast member parking lot?

I don't know, how many parks do they need in Orlando, Florida?

If Disney builds another park in Anahiem, it becomes a semi credible weeklong destination (provided that DCA transforms from the Ugly Stepchild to Disney Princess... Hey, it could happen, and flying 's my fly out of my )

A water park will definitely be built in the future, if they ever want to be a true resort. The point is not that there are other water parks nearby. The point is for Disney to build a better one to keep people from going to the other ones and spending more time (and MONEY) on Disney property. Besides, more competition is ALWAYS a good thing.

They have room, they have a chunck of land about the same size as all of Disneyland Park, south of Katella.

I personally would rather it be used for a 3rd park, rather than a water park. I think they own more land somewhere else, that could possibly hold a waterpark some day. (eventually)

I would rather see DCA become a park that takes one ENTIRE day + to expereince before a water park is installed. I don't see it happening in the near future- maybe something to take the grandkids too.

Even before that- I would be interested in seeing another resort hotel built, maybe along the line of "Pop Century" at WDW- to cater towards families and compete with the other economy properties in Anaheim. Then I think they would have something to offer everyone and entice more people to stay with Disney more often- I have never been able to stay on property because I can't afford it and we were always on a budget growing up. A budget level hotel would let families afford the expereince and maybe convince them that staying at one of the pricier properties would be worth it.

The new property has enough room for a new park, a water park, and resort hotels, and they are still acquiring more land for this expansion. I would expect two or three more hotels. Of course, Downtown Disney Phase 2 will occur first.

It will head north from where it currently starts (DLH side) forming an L-shape and starting closer to Mickey and Friends.

Would it then become more of a main route for people not taking the tram?
