Just wondering if anyone in SoCal is planning on visiting the new Disney Soda Fountain & Studio Store in Hollywood?

I'm gonna sing it; from the heart behind these hands
Please do not put on your safety goggles until you are safely seated inside the theater safely
I believe it's right near the chinese theater in Hollywood. It's where the Hollywood Disney Store used to be. It's a soda fountain type restaurant with all types of ice cream goodies and treats and there is also a shop there too. They call it the Studio Shop which will have stuff that is exclusive to that shop. Sue Kruse's new column entry gives a lot of info about it along with the new Herbie movie premiere.

It is next door to the Disney-owned El Capitan on Hollywood Blvd, across from the Hollywood and Highland complex. It wasn't opened yet when I was there but I peered into the windows. There are now 4 Ice Cream parlors within a 2 block radius.
here's the link to the official website for the restaurant:

I also suggest reading Sue Kruse's column on www.miceage.com, she gives a bunch of info about it. I do not know if it's open yet, but I will definitely be stopping by on my next visit.

While I'm delighted to read that Disney has opened a soda fountain in its former Disney Store next door to the El Capitain Theater in Hollywood, I am still sorry to have seen C.C. Brown's Ice Cream Parlor shut its doors in the mid 90s on Hollywood Boulevard.
Clarence Clifton Brown invented the Hot Fudge Sundae in 1906 at his ice cream parlor in downtown L. A. His son Cliff moved the family business to Hollywood Boulevard in 1929; Bob Hope once worked there. Marlon Brando and Joan Crawford were regular devotees of Brown's hot fudge sundaes; Brown's served hot fudge sundaes until they finally closed in 1996.
Being so close to the Chinese Theater and with The Paramount (El Captitain) across the street, it was a great place full of real atmosphere to retire to after seeing a first run film in the '60s and '70s.
OoooOoOooOH!!!! I SO know where I'm holding my birthday party this year.I wanna turn 32 Disney style!!!

When I first started to read that article, I thought they opened another Ice Cream shop in DCA in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot... then I remembered Bur-r-r Bank Ice cream and re-thought my assumption.
