what to expect for june 11th?

ok so I'm thinking of going to the grand opening for NEMO. I've never ever been to a grand opening of any ride so I have do idea what to expect. How early should we get to the park? Do they form a line outside before the park opens? I know some of you pirate crazies got there at like 1am before the premiere...is it gonna be like that? I really want to go so any tips would be awesome! Thanks!

I'm sure it will be pretty busy. Be aware that they'll form the line away from the ride. Only those with invitations can attend the actual opening. At 11:00 or so they'll move the line up the ride and then begin the rides for the public. Expect a REALLY LONG wait.

I wouldn't be surprised if some people spend the night at the gates. It will be CRAZY crowded. Expect lines of 5+ hours. Maybe if you get there by 4AM you might only wait 2. And yes, to attend the official "opening ceremony" you must be invited. Here's a quote from the DL website:

On June 11th, following a grand opening ceremony for media and invited Guests only, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage will open in the early afternoon.

I'll be there as a part of the Dream Job as well as the VIP Party and more and provide a full report upon returning on the 13th.

Park opens at 8:00, early entry is 7:00. The first people in line will be waiting at least 4 hours since it doesn't open until at least 11 AM. I'd wait till the next day if it were me.

Interesting, so in theory at least all the throngs of early entry folks will have first crack at getting into the nemo queue and all the AP'ers who stood in line outside the gates overnight could enter the park to find a queue already several hours long.

    Well ain't that a pip.

Expect to not get on the ride until at least 1:00pm. The public is not expected to be allowed on until early afternoon.

Also, the opening ceremony will be over near the Matterhorn near the old Monorail entrance. it will be tough for the general public to see what's going on. Just a heads up to get there early.

You'd be better off trying for the soft opening day they are planning for Friday. The rest of the time before that is preview days and after is the opening ceremony prep work. But yeah, on Monday it won't be opening to the public till noon at the earliest.

It will be crowded, but not as what you think. Its a Monday. Schools arnt out yet in California, some, but not many. Unless all these people are taking off work, etc just to come to the sub opening, then I wouldn't be too worried.

Most schools in Northern CA are out. The rest get out on the 6th around here. Disneyland is predicting capacity crowds. I don't think I would say its not going to be too bad. (And yes, there are people taking days off work and planning vacations specifically around this!)

I wouldn't expect a soft opening for the general public on Friday. I *think* (and I could be wrong) that is the Club 33 preview.

I just got off the phone with city hall and they told me they are 100% positive that they aren't going to be holding soft openings for finding nemo, and that On June 11th, following a grand opening ceremony for media and invited Guests only, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage will open in the early afternoon to all day park guests.
