It's fun to compare that '90's video with this one from 1959:

There's some cheating going on here, for the sake of the TV show (clips of real fish edited in), but other than that, it's interesting how much livelier many of the figures were. Look at the sea serpent's head, for example. There's no doubt the ride had deteriorated in some ways by the time it was closed.

HBG2, I don't remember that little "sattelite" sub in the original ride.
Was that just stock footage spliced into the film or was that actually there in the 50's then removed?

I don't remember it either, but then, I don't remember that big octopus. We'd need to hear from a more senior Micechatter (more senior than me, anyway).

A lot of cheating! That was a well produced film, and much was filmed by divers. In my videos it is just a guy doing his best outside a porthole window.
