Pirates have just Improved parts of the park that needed it.
The POTC movie effects and AAs ruined the ride.
Kick them off TSI.
Keep them coming, more Pirates.
More Johnny and Orlando please.
Piratize the entire park.
Chance it back the way it was.

It depends on how permanent they are. Right now, it does seem like overkill, but the movies will fade eventually and then we'll see what happens.
While I do think there is a place for them, I also believe DL is on the verge of going overboard.
Its bad IMO and deefinitely too much of a good thing. I was fine with the show in NOS, but the fact that they are everywhere (shops, TSI, etc) its too much especially because it will die down. I LOVE POTC, and I actually love pirates, its a fun concept, but they are definitely not why I love DL and its been overedone at this point.

Probably both. Good for the bottom line and short-term attendance figures. Bad (in my humble opinion) for the future of the 'Theme Park', if this product-promotion at the expense of theme continues unchecked. But I am sure all are weary of my tirades against the pirate invasion phenomenon!

I do think it is rather extreme that they have pirate merchandise in pretty every store, regardless of the land. Right now it is on the verge of overkill for me.
TSI, I have to admit, is pretty good. I really enjoyed finally seeing so much activity on the Island. But I hope they stop with adding anything POTC movie related to the ride ... I love the movies ... but don't really care to see Will & Elizabeth AA's there.
I love pirates. I am a huge pirate fan.....have been since I was a little kid (which was a long time ago). However, I think DL has gone way overboard with the whole thing. I don't think that all the pirate stuff DL has will be able to hold it's own.....I think it's all a passing fad. For a while I was afraid that Disney was going to rename the park to Pirateland. Scary scary!
