I have heard this for years but only as rumor and speculasion, is it or isnt it a picture of what becomes of the Redhead at the auction scene.

It's hinted, but I don't remember if it was confirmed.

Friend claimed that the portait was somehwere else (in the captain's quarters when it first opened then it was moved to the bar when they PC's it...

To answer your question, that's false. As far as I know and have read, the portrait has always been in it's current spot.

As to if it's the red head in the auction scene...that's generally an accepted thing, but I've never heard of Marc Davis confirming that.

according to the pirates book that talks about it going from themeparks to the movies, it does state that the picture in the bar scene is what happens to the red head.

I'm in the same boat as Orcatime. Can we get a picture in this thread, especially because I live out in Oklahoma, so if this is something regarding something actually at Disneyland, I wouldn't be able to see it any time in the foreseeable future =(.

Watch mythbusters. Sailors used to use an eye patch not just for a missing eye but to keep one eye dark adapted for when they had to run below decks (into the dark) during the heat of battle.
