New E ticket ride Vs. Sub's resurface??

The amount it cost to resurface the subs, would that amount be enough to have a new E-Ticket type ride instead??? Someone said it cost 100 million to bring the subs back? True/false? How much did the Everest ride cost down in Florida? Just a thought.

Well if it cost $100 million to "resurface" that is easily enough for a new e-ticket. I believe that was about the cost of Everest.

Personally I would have rather them resurface the subs than to take out something else to put in a new E-Ticket. At least with the subs it fills in a vacancy that was already there and it is a new ride experience.

For the money they spent to bring back the subs, they could have razed the whole lagoon and built a dark ride providing the same exact experience with money left over. They wasted a lot of money on nostalgia.

Agreed--and in addition, alienated many "nostalgic" fans by theming it around an animated clownfish. Providing the same exact experience makes little sense to me, however, since Nemo is a thematic disaster to begin with.

They did just the right thing. The submarines are a unique experience and the redo is marvellous. Who needs another copycat coaster or cheap dark ride when you can have something special? They never would have or could have built something with such a complex infrastructure as Submarine Voyage today.

    Great job, guys! I'm thrilled!

I agree! And I love that we have the subs back. They were a great part of my childhood expieriance at Disneyland. And now they will hopefully still be around when I have kids, and that could all be part of the Disneyland childhood.

    Spoiler
Most of the ride inside the show building is thematically inconsistent, but the spiel from the Captain is still very much in the spirit of the original, exploration and discovery and forward the future and all that.

I agree. The subs were never that great. Pretty boring. After the hype dies down, people will wish they spent the money wiser.
