Flying to DL for 1st time

WE are hoping to fly to Dl in Dec. and wanted to see what airports or airlines you all recommend. It will be the girls' first flight so we are a little nervous. On a good note, we got rooms at the candy CAne which we are really looking forward to!

I would reccomend Southwest, or American depending on where you fly from. Personally, we always used American or USair flying cross country (NY to Anaheim) and only had ONE bad experience...some lost luggage to the point where they were almost going to have to reimburse me for my luggage.

I like Jet Blue into Long Beach but it probably helps if you are located in a Jet Blue city.

I would take whichever airline you could get a non-stop flight on (don't know where you are flying from). As far as airports go, Orange County or Long Beach are a lot easier to fly in/out of than LAX. Less people, smaller terminals.

Orange County (John Wayne Airport) is to Los Angeles, as Oakland is to San Francisco.

Hope the comparison makes sense. LAX is a huge airport and is farther away from DLR and John Wayne is less than 20 minutes away. However, flights into and out of John Wayne are usually more expensive than the same flight in to or out of LAX.

I'd recommend flying Alaska Airlines to John Wayne. I always fly on Alaska and going from John Wayne to Disneyland was pretty easy. I also recommend flying out of Oakland, its not as busy as SFO.

definitely use AlaskaAir...fly into long beach -- we flew into that airport this past May and it was WONDERFUL..so SMALL and easy to navigate yet not any further from Disneyland than JohnWayne (don't get me wrong, love JW too, but LongBeach is even BETTER!)

I've only taken Southwest because it was the cheapest flight for me into SNA. The few times I've flown... I've never had anything to complain about

I fly from CT so I always use NW. I will recommend, however, that you fly into John Wayne (Orange County - SNA). It is a small airport with only 13 or 14 gates. If you are staying at one of the DLR hotels, you can take the bus and be there within a half hour.

I also recommend Alaska Air, we take it non-stop from Spokane to LAX, but any of the airports would be fine too.

    ALWAYS SOUTHWEST
    ALWAYS JOHN WAYNE/OC

(this way you can also take the DL shuttle and save on taxi/rental car fees!)

    did LAX once...
    did ONTARIO once...
    NEVER AGAIN!!!

Long Beach... meh! Try and find
    an airline that flies there!
