Marine Observation Outpost

Hi-

First, I want to say that I used to work on Subs and I am happy they brought them back. I still have the recorded spiel in my head

The real reason I wrote this is because my brother is in a wheelchair and I am hoping someone can explain to me what the Marine Observation Post is and how it works.

Thanks

Dang! I thought you had pictures of it! I really don't know how it works, but you'll get a reply.

Re: Marine Observation Outpost

My friend in a wheel chair used the outpost. It's themed to an observation center. You basically watch a monitor of the ride which he said seemed brighter and better lit than the actual ride. The part of the ride with effects does not have effects in the observation room, otherwise it's much the same. Since much of the ride is composed of 2D projections up close, he felt you didn't lose much. He was able to compare, because during a slow part of the preview, he was able to get down the stairs and see the ride from the sub for comparison.

Re: Marine Observation Outpost

cool. thanks for the info. there is no way he could get in a sub so this sounds promising. i actually have one more question....Is there a special wheelchair line for this or would he have to wait in the regular line? thanks

Be glad they didn't call it the Lagoon Observation Outpost.

Since everyone is yearning for that ultimate, super-high quality video ride-thru of the Subs, I would think the place to shoot it would be in the Moo. Content-wise, a video shot there would be virtually indistinguishable from one shot in the Subs, and I would think it would be much easier to shoot a high-quality video there.

Re: Marine Observation Outpost

In the Operating Guide it was called the Remote Observation Outpost (ROO) The attraction calls it the Marine Observation Outpost (MOO) and a lot of CM's call it the boom-boom room. =D

That is what the CM called it at the ride when we were in line!

Here are some photos of the room:
