Light Magic Preview night
Yes, I was at The AP preview. It was an insane day for me, as I started the day at the Epcot rope drop and rode at least 1 attraction in each of the Florida parks before flying west for the preview.
Light tragic had awesome scoring! I still enjoy listening to The CD. The scale of the "stages" was immense. But the problems were even bigger!
In the show itself, the little skit they performed was repeated on each Corner of each stage. (four repasts per "float") With 4 floats on Main Street, that was 16 litle independent shows rather than One huge show like ELP. The immensity of the stages further dwarfed the performances leaving the audiences with an empty feeling that was difficult to identify.
Initially crowd control was unbelievably awful. When Light Magic opened the new tommorowland was under construction. The show would first perform in the newly upgraded small world area, (a major plus from this show.) and then the stages would park between Matterhorn and the castle to reload the confetti cannons, and reset the stages for the Main Street stop. So with the construction closing the hub enty to Tomorrowland, the only way for the small world crowd to leave, was through the castle. and then past the crowd waiting for the Main Street audience. Later in the summer someone figured out they needed to perform on Main Street first, and then move to the back of the park.
