    Well Done!

    Congratulations!

Couldn't have done it without you!

Because without the tremendous fan support over the past 9 years for bringing back Submarine Voyage in one form or another...I really don't think we'd be witnessing a day like today at Disneyland.

Of course we can thank all the Imagineers and management that supported and approved Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. But I really think this is one where none of them would have gotten off first base without the backing and egging-on of thousands of baby-boomers, newer Disney fans, and members of Disney internet bulletin boards everywhere posting and writing to Disney...pushing, prodding, jabbing, and cajoling...that they bring back the subs to the lagoon.

So seal that hatch and take her down! You deserve it! You're a great big part of Disneyland history today, whether you realize it or not.

    IMHO.

I was one of those people while reading the Save Disney site that sent email upon email to save the subs. And you know what, I would like to think that any effort made to bring the subs back are just as important.

are you saying my donation of $10 Million gets the same credit as people that just supported the idea?!

I think that there really are two people to congratulate. First Tony Baxter for pressing for the subs return. And second, Matt Ouimet who pushed to fund the renovation.

John Lasseter deserves an honorable mention, not really for the subs return but for plusing the ride to make it a true "E" ticket again.

I agree wholeheartedly; Matt, you left too soon. The DLR overall made a massive U-turn across the board when he started to run things, and long may this continue.

What exactly was John Lasseter's role in the re-opening of the subs?

Well... John directed Toy Story, which lead to a few hits such as Finding Nemo. John, being a stickler for 'quality', a word that many execs don't know the meaning of or don't care to, made sure that the Nemo Subs were better than they could have been. Meaning he fought for more money, more time, more effects.... all to make the attraction look as good as it does today. But I'm speaking out of my bum right now because I haven't seen it in person yet.

....and I guess if you can thank John Lasseter, you can thank George Lucas for starting ILM... and he wouldn't have started ILM if it weren't for a movie called STAR WARS!

    WOOO HOO!!!! STAR WARS RULES!

....or you can thank Eisner for scoring the deal with pixar to begin with... and then thanking him again for leaving so that Pixar and Disney could start talking again.

Whew, so many people to thank!

I think we can all thank Eisner for closing the Submarine Voyage in the first place. Had he not been such an incompetent weasel, we might have continued taking the attraction for granted.
