Re: Anyone book Cruzin' Disney's California Adventure Park Tour? (Segway!)

Someone posted elsewhere a tour review - I don't know that I'm allowed to post that here. But it sounds like a great tour (better once the guards know that guests are coming for it!) I am hoping to do it within 2 weeks, if I can book it a day ahead (I want to get my annual pass first).

I couldn't find a reference on the Disney website for it. They don't list any tours of DCA at all.

They haven't promoted it, nor the Fort Wilderness Segway tour at WDW.

If you go to the Disneyland website, and click on tours it talks about it. They give discounts for AAA and Disney Visa. At first I thought it sounded really cool, but if the actual tour of DCA is only and hour, it seems a little steep. I read on another site that the first hour is a breakfast, second is a lesson practice and then the final hour is the tour. Also the website says that you don't have to have admission to the park that day. You will be escorted out if you don't have a ticket.

The Epcot Segway tour runs two hours - one hour of training and one hour in the park - and costs $85, and it was well worth it to me. For $99, and with the extra added picture and parking at DTD and breakfast (which the DL site doesn't mention), the extra price makes sense. I look forward to trying this tour sometime.

It looks like Disneyland.com added a tour description page fairly recently. I'll definitely consider taking this tour later in the year. One early review posted on another message board was fairly positive. And I think the reviewer had done the Around the World at Epcot tour and could make comparisons.

And I love the idea of trying to build up enough speed to do the California Screaming loop. LOL!

The tour sounds like fun or at least riding the segway. I'm sure the novelty of the segway would wear off in the first 30 min. I hope thr tour part is entertaining.

I agree, the Epcot tour rocked! Hopefully the DCA one will rock as well.

Interesting. That page says the tour starts at 7:30 am, but everything else I've read and what I was told on the phone was to meet at 7:00 am.

Well, I'll be the one in a sleeping bag at the "C" in CALIFORNIA. Wake me at 7, mmmmkay?

Actually, for me when I took the Epcot tour, the first half hour was what made me not want to get off the thing when the tour ended and which made me so envious of the CMs who got to ride the thing all day for work at Epcot.

You need to check in and sign some papers and the like, so they need to make sure everyone is there in plenty of time to get everything done so the "tour" can officially start at 7:30. That's how I remember it being for the Epcot tour.

Oh, I'm sure that's true, but if they want or need people there at 7:00 to do the paperwork, they need to tell folks it starts at 7:00. Otherwise, folks are going to show up at 7:30 and expect they'll have time to eat breakfast and such and everyone will have to wait for the latecomers.

I've dealt with the folks on the reservation line, as did two of my friends. In all three of our experiences, no one on the reservation line had a clue as to the particulars of this tour, so it's important that the info on the website be clear.

But didn't you say that on the phone, they told you to come at 7am? I would expect most people haven't even seen the website and would go by what they're told on the phone as to when to show up.

Hubby said he'd do this with me, but that was when it was just a rumor. I'm so happy it's for real! We got to play with Segways once and they're a blast. I just hope I can get him to stay in the park for most of a day.

Thanks for the link to the page that actually shows this to be real!

I was told to be there at 7 after the person on the phone consulted with a supervisor. My two friends were not told by the rezzie person, but by me. One friend wasn't told that parking was included and also wasn't told park admission wasn't included (he's a newbie and not experienced in the ways of Disney).

I hope that in the next couple of weeks, the rezzie phone folks get something in writing to tell them all of the particulars about the tour. I think it would also be great if the website had more details about it.

Good thing I'm a MiceChatter so I can read about the details here!
