Merchandise

There was pirates shirts and headbands and pins all the way in the paradise pier store on the board walk place. This has to be the farthest spot from the pirates ride i can think of. Also does anyone else notice how many disneyland attraction pins there are in DCA? Why doesnt DCA have their own attraction pins? Ive yet to see a golden dreams pin or maliboomer pin or even any type of merchandise. Also buzz lightyear light up spinny things were in the store by soarin over california, that bothered me.

I have quite a few DCA ride pins - including a maliboomer one with Donald Duck.

I bought a Soarin' pin on my visit Saturday, in Greetings, and pretty sure there were at least a couple more (Tower of Terror, for one)

I looked at pinpics and if it is the same Donald Duck pin that BFJen is talking about then it was released Sept. 2003. Not all pins are at pinpics, though. So I could be wrong.

I have a great Tower of Terror pin. And I've seen Disneyland pins all over the DLR.

The generalized merchandise is a holdover from the Pressler/Harris years. Their focus was on marketing and merchandising. Very slowly attraction/land-specific merchandise is making its way back into the park and general merchandise is retreating back to Main Street.

oh and i forgot to mention im almost positive disneylands new phrase is where dreams come true, i saw at least 5 new pins that did not look like YOAMD and said Disneyland and under it said Where dreams come true. There was a Pin set with a frame that was not YOAMD related and had where dreams come true.

and the generic disney parks is still everywhere, does anyone know if it will ever leave? if its for YOAMD?

Thanks again, Mr. Pressler and Ms. Harris...as has been noted in several threads over the months, there used to be quite a few really unique shops (within Disneyland anyway) that have gone by the wayside in favor of each shop selling basically the same items.

Nice to hear that it may slowly be changing again.

"Where Dreams Come True" is the new slogan for all Disney Parks. I don't know if it's just for YOAMD or if it's permanent. Someone posted a news tidbit that "The Happiest Place on Earth" has been officially retired.
