    To expand a bit....

On Steve's reply. The only track is the one that guides Mark Twain and Columbia.

The rafts run free, as do the canoes, the Fantasmic! show barges and the various workboats that you never see.

But don't be fooled. That little oar isnt the only thing turning the boat.

Thats just the joystick for all the propellers under the raft.

no. Trained dolphins pull the rafts back and forth. They get a fish treat for every successful trip.

    Not a joystick.....

For the propellers. That's a tiller, and controls the RUDDER under the boat. There is a false "show" rudder (rubber that looks like a wood plank at the end of the tiller), and there is a stainless steel rudder under the raft hull.

By the way, there is only one propeller.

Just a typical flat-bottom boat, single screw. Nothing special, no magic, just a lot of theming.

Not on a track but the "CMs" working it are advanced animatronics and are programed to drive on the exact same route every time.

I always wondered this. It seems like there is a lot that can go wrong with piloting the rafts. Do they only let seasoned CMs do it? I wonder if they are paid more than other CMs who can't kills guests as easily.

And you don't need to ask for a toothpick afterwards.

It's too short a distance even for the drunken ROA CM's to get off course.

They get paid the same as other CM's but they do get a Grog ration, which is the root of the problem ...

    LOL, all hilarious repsonses!!!

The rafts are not on a track, the CMs operating have perfect docking. We, the Fantasmic! CMs, went on the other side for Fantasmic! set up once, that was cool!
