Last night I went back into the park for a previously scheduled reservation at Club 33. Even though the busy summer season is just beginning, it was actually easier to get a reservation for tonight, as the park closed early for a Grad Night event.
First thing I noticed were the new 'faux hedge" goofy, Disneyland, and mickey, only two out of three I photographed--- didn't they just put up the year of a million dreams posters?:
Then it was into the park, and upstairs to Club 33. The front desk attendant presented me with a Club 33 "40th Anniversary" keychain, which apparently they are giving out all year (I received another one during a previous visit):
Love the custom glass wall sconces:
No smoking, and also no cellphones, at Club 33:
The Club 33 Harpsichord:
Sure, frog, you say, enough with the fancy trappings, how was the food and drink?
The red wine served was an Estancia Pinot Noir, and it was delicious. This shot is from the bar, where I hung out more than I should have, but the bartenders, as always, are super nice and friendly:
I also had a salad that was just perfection -- probably the best salad I've ever had at any Disneyland restaurant.
My entree was the roasted chicken on risotto, which was cooked perfectly - it was heavenly. Notice the Club 33 plates - they have the best custom china at Club 33. Just beautiful:
For dessert, the Creme Brulee:

As close to a self portrait as I got:

Sure, yeah, nice, you say, but what's for sale - what can I buy in the club? Well, I knew you'd ask that, so here's a look at limited offerings in the the merchandise case:
And shots of the park from the balcony:
I held a fastpass for Space Mountain from my earlier visit, but it was down from about 8:30 on. The fireworks, bumped up to 8:45 p.m., were also cancelled due to "winds at higher elevations".
All in all, a great time. Definitely not Blue Bayou food!
