Re: Fantasmic Returns with the Mark Twain

This is all wonderful news about the F! changes, and I applaud them. This is the type of plussing, or "incline by degrees" to take the terminology out of Mr. Yee's book, that regular guests might not notice but certainly make an improvement for the better. This is the type of return from refurbishment that WDW can only dream of. Imagine - taking a break for TSI construction, and coming back with a better show! Sure suits my imagination.

I will certainly make a point of seeing F! on my next visit. Oh, and to thoroughly enjoy the Mark Twain in all her beauty, as well.

Re: Fantasmic Returns with the Mark Twain

I'll agree with everyone else so far.. Saw both Fantasmics tonight, and the show was great both times! The Monkey/Princess barges look awesome!

I'll do spoiler tags here, just in case:

    Spoiler
Simple deep blue LED lights for the monkeys and they still seem to 'glow' like they are lit in black light. But the best lighting is when Princesses are on the barges. Looks amazing. The barges appear and basically glow blue and shimmer a bit with twinkling white lights. Then as each Princess' part comes, the blue changes to colors. The designs are similar as before.. Sea weed and general sea-type plants for Ariel, roses for Bell, daisies and even a semi-hidden bird for Snow White. And a "special effect" at the end of their segment when the Witch comes out and causes the first loud thunder when conjuring up the Magic Mirror. It makes the barges look like they disappear. You just have to keep watching the Princesses and not get 'distracted' by the witch on stage. Such a great improvement!

Then the Mark Twain at the end looks great, as was said. Seemed like everyone in the crowd cheered more than usual when the Twain came around. Could have been for the characters, but maybe for the great looking boat, too!

    Awesome. The Mark Twain rocks!
As nice as the other parks are, we must always remember that it all began at Disneyland. Disneyland should be the crown jewel in the Disney crown.

I also noticed they did a little work on the dragon too. ALso the mark twain has never looked so good I was so happy. The new LED light spectacular. It was awsome . Plus it was the first night so i got to enjoy the small mistakes of a first night with a new crew, ie cauldran didnt pop up for evil queen when it should have or the huge lights didnt turn on at the start of the show when there were supposed to. I loved every moment of it good and bad My show is back

That is why you should always check the web site....then double check that with this site/Mouseplanet/and any other fan web site add them all together then divide them by 17 and you will get the opening date

They look AMAZING!!!!! I have seen Fantasmic! since day 1 and this adds so much to a small often forgotten part of the show.

It looked like the did something with the mist screens, they seemed larger then they used to be. But as far as basic fountain changes I don't see much coming.

The show was amazing. Other then the small changes to the barges and some new lighting effects for the dragon not much has changed. Same show it has been since 1992 and still one of the best!

According to some sources Phase II of Pirate's Lair involves draining the Rivers of America to make changes. I believe that's when the mist screen improvements are coming.

Whoever was talking about the "deep blue" LEDs for the monkeys, you're actually seeing a UV LED at work. The thing about them being entirely different from filament/vaccuum lights is that their lighting needs less filtration. Those deep blue LEDs are actually helping with the glow effects.

There have also been some back of house changes with the sound system, and the Pinnoccio segment's lasers have been upgraded.

Just curious. When the Columbia is under for rehab. What do the actors for the Peter Pan scene do?
