GardenWALK... in Anaheim.

SO I was reading a post and noticed soem people have information on it. My question is: What is taking it so long to be developed? and who owns it? Disney or Anaheim or is that the probelm as to why it is taking so long to be developed. I work like 5 minutes down the street from it. Looks kinda like a sore spot for now. Anyone have any info on this?

Well, disney had been fighting to buy out that property for years. What used to be in that spot was my grandmothers church MelodyLand. Which of course was a total rip off name from disneyland. Disney wanted the area for parking (which really means they didnt want the church there because of the name and because people were stupid parking in that lot thinking it was a disneyland building...... believe me it happened), and the city wanted it for development. Im not sure who ended up buying it, but I can find out.

no problem, my family works for the city so I can find out who owns the land rights. My guess would be the city though.

They've had that Gardenwalk stuff on that fence for YEARS now! Wish they'd just give up and sell to Disney already.

GardenWalk Phase 1 is slated t open in mid 2007. At least that's what the posted signs say. Of course, there has not been any development on the land at all since the fence went up.

the signs used to say summer 2005, and now they've changed to 2007. My friend an I always wonder about it as we pass by on the cast shuttle.

Darn, I was really hopeing Disney would own that land. They could make a few more hotels and have some parking places.

I think Disney has enough on its hands now:
1. Rehab of the deterioration and neglect in Disneyland.
2. Upgrading and adding to DCA.
3. Disneyland Hotel could use some spiffing up.

I think it will be awhile before we see a "3rd gate."

the problem with this logic is that it's much harder to buy land when it's not for sale and after it's been put to use

it's much better and easier to buy things when they're on sale and save it for later use

Disney can't just worry about today it has to worry about the future as well

So what is the gardenwalk then? I saw the signs for it, but I have no idea what it's supposed to be.
