Tony Baxtor worked soo hard to get the subs back. While doing this, he apparently created an awesome story for a little mermaid ride. Unfortunetly, they said the story wouldn't work in tommarowland (nemo does?) and his plans for a mermaid ride was later scrapped for what today is called The Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.
So what's to happen with plans for this awesome new Mermaid ride that Baxtor created. Well it appears to be in light "blue sky" mode right now, preferably for Fantasyland.
So who knows. Maybe some day we can finaly see a Mermaid ride (probably in the old motorboat cruise area)"When asked which movie he'd like to see adapted for an attraction, he mentioned The Incredibles (The POD's planned for people mover?), but Grier cited his personal favorite as The Little Mermaid, previewed last year on the Platinum Edition DVD in an outstanding computer simulation. "The Little Mermaid continues to be a Disney classic," he said during a roundtable talk at Main Street's Opera House, noting that the animated version of the Hans Christian Andersen story has been adapted for Broadway. "[Imagineer] Tony Baxter has done great work [on a Little Mermaid-based attraction]. Have we officially drawn plans up? No, we haven't. But I think we can one day."
