    MollyTrolly's 1st TR, A View From The Top 6/17/07

Hubby decided he wanted to take me and the kids to DL for Fathers day instead of fishing with his buddies. This would be The BoyTrollys first trip to the park. We didn't tell The Girl so it would be a surprise for her too, and were up and out of the house by 6:45am for the hour drive to Anaheim.

We arrived and parked at Pinocchio (my favorite lot) gave TheGirl her ears to tell her we were going to DL, and were in DL by 8:20 after some long lines at the tram. We checked out the line for FNSV which was almost to IASW (although it didn't look like they had opened up all the switchbacks yet.) So we decided TheBoys first ride at DL, would be what I still consider one of the great DL rides...IASW

On our way back to Fantasyland, they had gotten the FNSV line under control, and it was only back to the old smoking area I think (sorry not the best pic). I am guessing this is still over 3 hours?

Then it was off to Tea Cups and of course Dumbo. I love the details on this ride, there is so much detail.

We then took a ride on the carrousel, and made our way over Big Thunder Trail to see what was happening on ROA. We come round the bend and there was the Mark Twain, looking amazing and about to set off, so we jump on.

We go all the way up to the top deck (at TheGirls lead). and when we get up there I see the captian outside looking around. So I ask if me and my family can take a ride up top with her (I have never done this before and am quite shy so it was a big step for me). She said "sure" and I grabbed hubby and in we went.

This is the inside downstairs area

This is pretty cool, its on the wall in the downstairs quarters

The view from up top is wonderful, and its great to see all the activity on the island

We got to ring the bell and blow the whistle, it was so cool, our kids had the best time, even though, they had no clue what a special opportunity we had to ride with with the captian!

This was Branda our wonderful captian, she was very happy to have the twain back out on the ROA.

Then it was a quick trip on pirates, everyone needs to go on pirates their first visit. Then a stop for TheBoys first visit button, they gave TheGirl a princess button, so sweet to make sure she got something too. Then it was off to DCA.

TheGirl loves Fliks Fun Fair and Heimlich's especially so we went there first. This really is a great ride, that needs to be about 3 minutes longer.

Then it was off to Lady Bug Boogie, Flyers and Buggies and then Heimlich's again. Oh and hubby found the four leaf clover for me. Which is pretty cool, because its right there in the middle, but I have never been able to find it!

I love the theming in this area as well, this is my definite favorite

We then went to find the Cars (which are now across from Soarin instead of over by the pier), which TheBoy couldn't believe his eyes, we got pics and were out of the park in our car heading home by 12:30pm. It was a busy morning, but it was time to get hubby home for his fathers day nap.

    The End

Actually should have clarified, a lot of the Twain pics were taken by hubby, I was busy playing with the bells and whistles! Thanks though. We really wanted to make it to the meet, hopefully next time!

Heimlich's Chew Chew train is one of the best rides at DCA. I have no kids.
