Scarlet's TR #36: 6/16/07: HP and Raver Day Madness

This was a last minute sorta thing. The original idea was to go with my parents on Saturday since they have not gone since 1996. Yet, since they figured many of my friends would be there for the unofficial Harry Potter Day, they just let me go instead (and save the family trip for another day). I didn't go in any ties, I only wanted to see friends that I don't get to see all that often. ^^

We went hella early to catch the Nemo subs. I don't think I ever went at park opening. Thank goodness my brother is a CM. We had good company with us, so the wait was not all that bad.

Raver Day was also a happenin'


To celebrate the spirit of the Unofficial Harry Potter Day, Anneke had this tradition she picked up at another Harry Potter meet up. It's like passing notes and passing them on to the next person.


I renamed this ball to the unofficial Katamari of Disneyland. (if you've played Katamari Damancy, you know what I mean)


Okay, I didn't say I would really show my HP spirit, but Anneke gave me a Death Eater mark.

When we did Haunted Mansion, I noticed a really odd scent. To me, it smelled like some skunk died in the Haunted Mansion. Apparantly, Sadako pointed out it was pot smoke. Ravers snuck in marajuana on the ride. When it was getting pretty strong, they had to stop the ride.

Not to mention there were a group of ravers smoking in non-smoking areas. x.x Aiya!

When I saw the raver kids on Saturday, I couldn't help thinking "Don't they get hot with all that plastic up their arms and around their necks?"

I don't understand why they allow smoking at all in the parks. If you can't go without smoking all day then you need to get stronger self will. I smoked for about 6 years and I had no problem not smoking for a day or in places with crowds. I also had no trouble quitting cold turkey. It's people like those ravers that ruin the place for others. I agree, forget calling the cops, do them old Vegas style and just beat the crap out of them in the backstage area and dump them out in Joshua Tree.

You're spot on there. It's always a physically identifiable group with aesthetic similarities who ruin everything. What the security patroll needs to do is begin a practice of watching for anyone who looks out of the ordinary or sub-average or unique and detain them for questioning. There's no way anyone who doesn't look like you or I... or at least you... could be up to any good. They're undoubtedly planning to break the law or disrupt everyone's day, otherwise they wouldn't have been dressed like that in the first place. Blend in or get out.

And in regards to handling possible miscreants like gang-owned casinos - that is exactly the kind of line that Disney needs to start adopting. If someone gets too out of line, physically assault them and leave them in Yucca Valley for dead. Who's going to miss them? They weren't contributing anything to society in the first place.

You know, they used to do things this way in this country. Back in the good old days. They did it with fire hoses and riot cops. And they didn't just stop at the way people dressed, they separated people by how much pigment they had in their skin. Everyone was kept among their own kind, and everyone was happy.

What a bunch of cowards everyone in this society has turned out to be.

Oops, I forgot to mention that my post was directed towards the pot smokers, not just ravers. Are you seriously trying to compare race to dress style? Are you honestly going to try to lecture me about racism? I've been held in jail 3 times simply because of my race, and yes it was proven in court, so try not to lecture me about it. Anyways, I'm not trying to hijack this thread. My original post wasn't meant to be taken literally, but I forgot that any forum you go to has some nerds that take everything literally and want to get bent out of shape about it.

Seriously though, they shouldn't allow smoking in the parks and I believe that some basic dress code should be enforced, it helps. I know that here in the Memphis area, they have several movie theaters that have slight dress codes, such as no backwards hats and no pants down below the butt crack, and it works. Take a look at old pics of DL and pics from now. I don't think it's because of the mix of races now, it's the level of leniency that has taken place since those days.
