Couple of questions about the Fourth of July. Does Disneyland do something different or special with the fireworks on the 4th? Also, are there any special shows or things to do in the few days leading up to the 4th?
Thanks

Stalking is when two people go for a long romantic walk together but only one of them knows about it.
DL really goes nuts with the fireworks on the 4th. It's well worth it, if you have the patience for the crowds and the heat. We go most years, just because the show is so impressive.

Also, there are, like 12 performances of Fantasmic that night, so you'll get to see that for sure!
It is totally worth the trip on the 4th... just don't plan to leave the park that day... be prepared for lines and being with 80,000 of your closest Disney fan friends! And plan to stake out a spot on Main St atleast 2 hrs prior to the show (I took a book with me!).
Here in Vail/Tucson fireworks suck... it's more exciting to watch the firemen attempt to put out the fires on the mountain where they shoot off the fireworks (they always have misfires that set the mtn ablaze)
They do an additional display after the regular fireworks for the 4th... so you usually have upwards of about a 25-30 minute display.
