Holy Moly Batman!!! It has been two months since I have visited the resort! I was so ecstatic when I found out that I was going to Disneyland :yea:
I wasn’t really in a photogenic mood which means I didn’t take many pictures, which also means there will be a lot of holes in this report… but that’s ok!
We have had some house guests staying over from Kansas and the last thing they wanted to do before they left was take a trip to Disneyland so of course I volunteered to be their tour guide
We left our house at around 10:00 in hopes of getting in the park by 11:00 (We actually didn’t get in the park til about 12:30 because the people that were meeting us there took the wrong freeway and ended up getting lost in LA!)
[FYI, I am probably going to repeat a bunch of old updates but I am doing this report as if NOBODY has heard of any of them] :)
The weather couldn’t be any more perfect

New Nemo posters in the tunnels leading to Main St. (I don’t like this one at all only because it doesn’t match any of the other posters at all... its cool though)
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics029.jpg
95% of the time, Fathers would rather be playing a game of golf over going to Disneyland which is totally fine with me!
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics030.jpg
BLAB was our first ride of the day… I was with the 6 year old… I would have scored higher but I was too busy jerking the ride vehicle left or right so he wouldn’t hit his target
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics032.jpg
I don’t know if you guys know this or not, but Finding Nemo is finally open!!!
I got chills up and down my back seeing the lagoon again (I didn’t remember the waterfalls being so high!)
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics033.jpg
The Monorail has been given a brief FNSV overhaul for the summer
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics034.jpg
The line just reached the two hour point
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics036.jpg
I really wanted to go on this, but the house guests would rather go on IASW… Hey, its not my vacation!
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics037.jpg
The WORST spot for a Meet and Greet EVER! (Im sure you can tell what characters they are)

http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics043.jpg
We decided to wait a lil bit on TSI so we decided to go to POTC instead!
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics044.jpg

Of course, there were the usual idiots smoking pot in the smoking section… somebody told a suit and he called over some security and escorted them away :) :yea:
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics050.jpg
We went through Dead Man’s Grotto thingy… The AA that I wanted to see most wasn’t talking!
The children of our house guests are absolutely obsessed with Captain Jack so of course we had to get a pic with him
He was hesitant to come out for a bit
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics052.jpg
He finally gained the courage and walked to his pile of treasure
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics053.jpg
His sword was in an awkward place :lmao:
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics057.jpg
Cheese!!!
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics059.jpg
:judge: There was a huge mistake with planning… Just as we were leaving the Meet and Greet with Captain Jack, another Captain Jack from the stunt show came running down the side of the island and charged through the backstage door the other Jack just came through… What the heck?!? Bad showmanship
We went over to Fantasyland to take advantage of the rarely short lines
In the sky, an advertisement for the show Kyle XY was cluttering the sky
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics065.jpg

http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics085.jpg
We went to the Small World Pavilion to watch the parade and before the big parade, there was a really cute Ratatouille pre-parade that had a REALLY catchy song to go with it

Cut-off T’s + Farmers Tan DOES NOT = Sexiness
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics097.jpg
It’s show time!
Merlin is now a permanent character for the show, rather than just a substitute for the Fairy in the purple (Name?)
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics098.jpg

http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics109.jpg
The main supports for the Pinocchio puppets are now no longer directly overhead, but off to the side (I guess they bumped their heads a couple times)
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics110.jpg
Before the parade completely ended, we charged the Subs with hopes of short lines… and we beat the crowds!!! :yea:
In typical Mice Chat tradition, I whipped out the Pocky for a quick snack

http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics130.jpg
Here we go!!!

Absolutely amazing Imaginers! The sound system on the subs are stunning and of course I loved the nod to the sea serpent. Troy said he found a mermaid last night… I did not even know there was one! I loved everything about the ride except for one little thing… During some of the show scenes, I felt like I was just looking at a television screen, which is basically what it is, but sometimes it is a bit more apparent then others. It was just an amazing feeling being on the subs again after it being closed for ten years :gladsad:
Haha… this is the only picture I got. It sure is a good one ;)
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...11/Pics135.jpg
By the time we got off of the subs, it was already 9:15 so we rushed to the hub to watch the fireworks but I was skeptical that they were going to be shown due to the breeze we felt. The show ended up getting canceled but that was fine because everybody was let down by the show being canceled so everybody left! :yea:
I begged and begged and begged to stay for the 10:30 showing of F! so I could see the updates to the show… they caved! We went over to snag a spot for the show. We went off in pairs to find dinner because none of us had eaten yet. I walked right to the front of the “line” for Café Orleans and got a heaping bowl o Clam Chowder… mmmmmm
Once again, SHOW TIME!
The updates to the show were awesome… The new Princess barges are friggin beautiful! You can see a video of them I found on You Tube (watch it all the way through)
You can also tell that the Princess’ have new costumes that are much more shimmery (Is that a word?) Once the Evil Queen comes out, during the first clash of thunder, the floats “disappear” as if by magic. From the video, it looks like there is pyro on the barge, but it is just lights shimmering Also, the Beauty and the Beast barge COMPLETELY missed its cue. It was basically following the crocodile out after the Colombia. The barge backed up a bit and was engulfed in fog. The strings that hold Pinocchio up now change colors instead of simply staying the solid green. And the Evil Queen’s crown is GINORMOUS! It is completely unnecessary but it’s pretty funny. There was no fire on the right side of the river when Mickey was battling Bertha. Bertha had some trouble going back into the stage so an immense amount of fog was pouring out of the stage even during the Finale. And one last update that I can remember… two words… Trapped Doors… O-M-G! I don’t know if they just fixed them up, or if they completely replaced them because they were amazing
We waited about 10 or 15 minutes for the crowds to dissipate which really helped when we left
Jeeeez, if I wasn’t there to guide them, they would be lost in the park for the whole night! I said “Lets go” and they starting walking towards BTMRR
I was like, “Hey, Main St. is this way!”
The trams were still completely backed up so we stopped in the World of Disney for a bit of shopping around
It was a really great day and I was happy to be back at the park again :)
Just in case you have been living under a rock, or in the South, you probably wouldn’t know that June is Pride Month. I, and many others would be more than happy to help you :)
I hope you have enjoyed the latest installment of the Abominable Snowman Trip Reports! Thanks for reading
Now, in honor of Pride month, I captured this special ending just as I was leaving the park…
