    Last weekend of September...?

I'm just randomly pricing Disneyland vacations for the last weekend of September. How are the crowds and weather at that time? It would definitely be a weekend stay, to fit a quickie trip in around work.

Also, how kid-friendly is the Tropicana Inn and Suites? My daughter will be 2 and we recently had a great time at the Paradise Pier (recently = April) so I'm going to be comparing it to everything over there.

    Thanks!!!

The weather during the end of Sept. thru Oct. is pretty good, in the mid-80's and low 60's upper 50's at night. I can't tell you about the Tropicana since I've never stayed there ( Usually I stay at the Best Western Park Place Inn) The crowds usually are not too bad. Hope this helps.

I've never stayed at the Tropicana either so I'm no help there. Even that time of year Fridays and Saturdays tend to be pretty busy, but Sundays are a bit lighter, esp. in the afternoon.

Of course that time of year has the advantage of being BEFORE they start the big Halloween promotions, so it might not be to bad even on a weekend.

    Re: Last weekend of September...?

My wife and I went the last week-end of Sept./Oct. last year, and it was really busy, but that was due to a triple whammy of scheduling. It was the premiere week-end of Mickey's Halloweentime, the Nightmare overlay on opened HM, and the change from the 50th Celebration to Year of a Million Dreams (although I highly doubt that the last one did a whole lot for attendance). As a result they had an extra 10,000 people per day that weekend. When we booked it, none of those things were announced, so it looked good. In terms of weather it was perfect, warm and sunny the whole time. If it is the weekend before the Halloween conversion this year, you will probably be fine.

I think that the end of September is a good time to visit. Less crowds considering the kids are out of school. Hotels might be cheaper as well.
What better way to turn 10 years old! A birthday bash with all of his friends!

The last weekend of September Disney probably will set up the Halloween decorations. Therefore, it will be more crowded than normal. IMHO, the crowds shouldn't be enough to deter a visit. As for the Tropicana, I have heard bad things about it from someone who I trust dearly, and I would recommend Hojo's. It is not much farther of a walk.

As far as the third week of the month....it shouldn't be too bad. The 15th is my birthday actually anmd I plan on coming that weekend.

    Re: Last weekend of September...?

We are going the last week of September so I am hoping not as busy as Christmas or Easter. As for the Tropicana my 10yr old & I have stayed there the last 2 times we went( apr/07 & nov/06) and had no complaints & we have stayed at Best Westerns & Howard Johnson's...at the end of the day having less steps to the room make a difference. We had a 2q once & the 2nd time a king but room had high ceilings & a balcony to watch fireworks.
