BRING IT BACK!!! It's one of the few things that is original as DL.
BRING IT BACK!!! It's one of the few things that is original as DL.
"Trap Toad will they? HA HA NEVER!"
"Get Hip, Don't get the Dip!"
its just time to move on, there should be one last show "Last moments with Mr. Lincoln" and get an AA Wilks Booth and the rest is history
It would be cool to see it back, I have never seen it, because my first DL trip was in 2005. I think it is important to keep the Lincoln animatronic the same, because it is the first human audio animatronic, and for a Disney nerd like me that would be awesome to see the first human audioanimatronic.
Even after a couple of centuries, guys, I'm not sure it's cool to joke about a great man's assassination...pooh on you.
Back on topic, I'd like to have Mr. Lincoln return, though I'm not extraordinarily anxious to have him back immediately. I rather like the binaural bit--a bit gimmicky, perhaps, but not something most people get to hear every day. As several others mentioned, the actual portion with Lincoln is not as cheesy as it could be and it does bring a sense of patriotism and...I dunno, seriousness to that area of the park in a way Walt recognized the need for. Main Street really was not intended to be a shopping mall with a weenie at one end.
Can we say "'Great Moments with CAPTAIN Abe Lincoln."
oh captain my captain... savvy?
But seriously, a similar show but with more great Americans like Dr. King, Mark Twain and Walt would bring in a bigger crowd.
I say put a Civil-War themed ride in Frontierland, a big, E-ticket, musket-and-saber show, something on the scale of POTC. Put it where the Big Thunder Ranch is.
Then transplant the classic Lincoln show there, as an adjunct attraction, or pre-show, to give context to the Civil War ride.
It would:
1. Give FtL the respect and revitalization that is long-overdue
2. Free up the Opera House for other things without Lincolnites whining
3. Bring back a classic in an even better-themed context than the original
4. Satisfy the nostalgia-lovers in the healthiest way
A Civil-War themed ride was planned for Disney American. We have Lincoln here in Disney World and everyone is taking a nap. As my grandma tould me best ever to get a nap on.
i like having disneylands history in there though, the 50thness needs to get out because were on the 52nd haha but i like the early matterhorn costume and dumbos circus models that never made it.
