Main Street Electrical Parade 1972

Hello Disneyland Fans,
im new to this board but not new to the magic that is Disneyland!. Anyways i will be on here for now on and would love to bring up a new discussion, that i would love to talk about about. We all love and know the Wonderful "MAIN STREET ELECTRICAL PARADE" for years it has captured our hearts and has been at evrey disney theme park since it opened in 1972. The creative forces behined the parade created something that is and was timeless for our generation. Years and years people have seen this parade and love that electro sythinzed music that is BAROQUE HOEDOWN. The twinkle in the lights, the magic in the air. It has spaned almost 3 decades and is still running at Disneys California Adventure Park, and Tokyo Disneyland Park in a new and revisioned parade. It has millions of fans and is one of the most cherised nightime disney parades of all time. But for some of those of a younger or older generation you may not know that the electrical parade, debuted in 1972 at Disneyland Park, then went on Hiatus for a couple of years, returned again but in a redone version, then ended in the fall of 1996 to make way for a new creation of a nightime parade that never "Lasted".It then returned in the summer of 2001 in a shorter version at Disney's California Adventure Park, right across from Disneyland Park, where it still plays til this very day. Through the years the electrical parade went through many changes, floats, costumes, and even music!. When the 1972 electrical parade opened at Disneyland park, no one knew what to expect! But when the lights came down and the fanfare started evreyone fell under its magical spell of lights and music!. Also, the floats were never 3 dementional, they were more 2 dementional thus calling this version "the flatter version". The music was more of a moog synthized sound, and it never had the fanfare and electrical intro that played after it returned from its hiatus. Some of the very first original floats that opened with the parade were, The blue fairy, Mickeys Casy Jr Train, Cinderella's Ball, Sleeping beauty dragon, Dumbos Circus, & Its a Small World.This 1972 version has been long forgotten and I would now like to share these wonderful memories with you in pictures that have been fully restored, and can now be seen at last after many years!. The electrical parade, has been seen at Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland (dreamlights a new and revised version is playing at Tokyo Disneyland , and the electrical parade will be making its way to Hong Kong Disneyland in the near future. Thus providing many wonderful and new memories to come for many more years!. If you have any stories or pictures please do share!.

I love the Electrical Parade. I saw it in April, for the first time since before it went on "hiatus" several years ago. I have to tell you... as soon as the intro started, and I heard the music for the first time in so many years... I had chills!!! It was truely magical!

My grandpa recently gave me an old 64 of the music from the Main Street Electrical Parade from back in the 70s. Its in perfect condition and plays really nicely. Its kind of amazing to here the orginal soundtrack in its original form.

When I went to DCA in April, I wanted to see it more than anything but sadly, I wasn't in control of how long we were going to stay that evening. Not having a drivers license sucks!
