How likely is a walk in at BB?

So, I would like to go to Blue Bayou to eat....MAYBE.

I only have 2 days this trip, and they are going to be marathon days. We are doing early DL then DCA to late DL on first day and all of DL on day 2. I want to see how I feel about day 2 before I decide if I can spend an hour at BB. Is it very unlikely that I can do a walkup to get into BB on a Monday night in 3 weeks?

Why not just call and make a reservation for the day you want to dine there? (714) 781-DINE

Or just go up to the restaurant earlier in the day and see about making the reservation :P

Not gonna happen. Make the reservation. Totally worth the effort.

Reservations are definitely better and easier. However, I have seen plenty of walk up's get in.

Reservations are accepted 60 days in advance for the Blue Bayou and they can fill up quickly. Walk-ins are accepted, but you will probably wait at least an hour to be seated. Going to the restaurant early in the day to make a reservation is incredibly if-y at best. Call ahead and see what is available. Cancellations and no-shows do occur though.

Just make a ressie and if you decide you can't do it, just call and cancel.

Well I got in (walk-up) on NYE no less. However I went right when they opened, I'm a single diner, and I had to wait an hour, before even being let in the doors. Once in, I had to wait about a half an hour for a waterside table.

    Still, it can be done.

Yes it can be done. Smaller party's (2), that accept the table offered, get seated sooner. There have been occasions where we only waited 20 minutes.

Don't chance it. By the time you're sure you can eat there, you will not be able to get a table. Just do yourself a favor: call in and make a reservation. Cancel if you don't want to go. That simple.

I can't even get a walk-in for Cafe Orleans anymore.

In the time it took to write this thread, you could have made a reservation, or PS, or ADR....whatever they're calling it these days!

Yeah, my best tip would be that you should go there a day or two early, book your reservation, and come back a little early on the day that you booked it for. Happy eating

Make a reservation. You can always cancel the morning you are there so someone else can reserve your table. Have fun!

I agre with everyone else: Make a reservation. It is worth it. If you can make a reservation for waterside dining. :-D It's way better in my opinion. We've gotten waterside every time and I prefer it. Oh! And ask for Mary; she's the best and knows what she is doing.
