Who knows? Probably because they installed Fastpass on pretty much every e-ticket in the park (excluding the Matterhorn) when the system was first introduced. When it became clear that Fastpass wasn't necessary for the higher-capacity rides that don't have the huge demands of roller coasters and recently opened attractions they either removed it physically or just don't use the systems.

No it doesn't. I went on it a couple of weeks ago and the line started on the other side of Matterhorn where you can see Main Street and SBC and I waited in line no longer than 40 minutes. Maybe if the wait time gets over an hour long like Space, Splash, Indy, BTMRR I could understand it but not Matterhorn.

Yeah, even if the line wraps all the way around the mountain it's only about 30 minutes.,

I know, normally neither do I but the last two trips I've actually wanted to go on rides besides HM and PotC so I didn't mind waiting for Matterhorn. Weird for me, I know, it's only a phase...

ah im not the only one!! seriously 30 minutes is to much for me, sometimes i even gawk at 20 minutes, it depends on my mood, where the queue is, if i think the time board is lying, if i think the time on the ride sign is lying, theres alot that makesmy desicion.

Well, you are an AP, that means you have the opportunity to go back anytime of the year and not wait the 20 minutes.
