Jungle Book Ride

i am not sure where to put this ride, but i have an idea for the ride. I am not quite sure if it will be a water ride similar to the JC or a dark ride

First you board a raft type boat and you start heading down a indian river. You then see Bagheera. He then takes him to a mother wolf who has just had cubs. She raises him along with her own cubs and Mowgli soon becomes well acquainted to jungle life. As you travel down the river further, you see the mother and father wolf talking Shere Khan, a man-eating tiger, has returned to the jungle, they realize that you must be taken to the man village, to protect you and those around you. Bagheera volunteers to escort you back. The scenery then becomes very dark as you travel by night. All of the sudden from an overhead tree branch Kaa, the hungry Indian Python, slithers down and tries to hypnotize you into a deep and peaceful sleep and then able to eat you, but he fails. The next morning, you see in a distance an elephant patrol led by Hathi. You try to join but you and Bagheera get in an argument and you run away.
You then come across a fun-loving bear Baloo, who shows you the fun of having a care-free life and promises not to take him to the man village. Now more than ever do you ever want to stay in the jungle. You are then caught by a gang of monkeys and taken to their leader, King Louie the orangutan. You enter another scence which looks like ruins from an old civilization. You are then rescued from King Louie by Bagheera and Baloo, but soon runs away from them after Baloo realizes the man village is best for the boy and breaks his promise. Kaa tries a second time to hypnotize you into a deep and peaceful sleep, and eat him, and fails, thanks to the intervention of Shere Khan. You escape and encounters a group of solemn vultures, and they say they'll be his friend. Shere Khan appears shortly after, but when Baloo rushes to the rescue, together they manage to get rid of the ruthless tiger. Bahgeera and Baloo take him to the edge of a man-village, but you are still hesitant to go in. His mind soon changes when a young girl from the village comes down by the riverside to fetch water. After noticing the boy, she "accidentally" drops her water pot, and you retrieves it for her and follows her into the man village. You exit the ride by following an attractive female leading back to the mainland.

What do you guys think? You can also add or delete any of these scenes if you wish, but i wish DL comes out with a ride concept of this awesome movie

Re: Jungle Book Ride

I want a Jungle Book ride too, but I proposed this for Animal Kingdom.

Some of you have also agreed that Jungle Book needs some love, and I totally agree. I've been wanting to see a ride for this movie for quite a long time so here's my pitch.

E-Ticket. Yes.. E-TICKET. Not as a Splash Mountain kind of way... but close. A lot tamer. More like Pirates of the Caribbean but in a jungle full of great characters and great music.

This is basically a retelling of the film in ride form and we follow Mowgli as he starts off with the wolves. Some great scenes could follow with Baloo and Bagheera. Colonel Hahti and elephants marching. "I wanna be like you" could be a major show stopper with monkeys EVERYWHERE. Then the snake Kaa (is that his name?) could swoop down from a vine and try to hypnotize the guests.

Climax would be the forest in flames and shere kahn running around with his tail on fire.

Finale would be US returning to the man village with Bagheera wishing you well and Baloo telling you to come back and stay.

I have a Tarzan coaster too and a concept for Fire Mountain with the goddess Pele but I'll save those for next time.

Re: Jungle Book Ride

A ride with the characters of the jungle book could work very well in Animal Kingdom but I wouldn't put it in the same park as the jungle cruise.

Re: Jungle Book Ride

Adventureland is pretty crowded, at least you did not propose to change the JC. I hate it when people propose to change the physical ride. I know 2 managers, one tried to change it to George when that came out, the other tried to switch it to Tarzan.... both no longer work for the company. Then there was a 3rd one who pulled the guns.... yeah he wasn't there long either.

Re: Jungle Book Ride

I got the chance to chat with Jim Henson after he had come aboard with Disney and not too long before he died...and he told me he was working on a pitch for a Jungle Book attraction. He loved the characters in that film, and he really felt they would work great in an Audio-Animatronic water ride. He was really going on about it. Lots of comedy. He said he observed that while almost all the Disney theme park attractions made you smile...very few made you laugh out loud. He wanted to change that. He was really up on bringing a few pieces of real comedy into the parks.

Too bad. What mighta been.

Sounds similar to Marc Davis and his inspirations decades earlier! It is because of Mr Davis that we laugh on Pirates, Jungle, and Mine Train for those that remembered it.

I really miss Jim Henson and glad that he also thought that Jungle Book would make an awesome attraction. I really think it would too. Doesn't have to be fancy. Just really really fun. The songs in the films are enough to make your toe tap.

Very interesting. The concept art that was created must sit in a file somewhere.
