Harper Goff (note correct spelling) was an Art Director for both the Disney Studios and Disneyland. He designed much of Jungle Cruise and Adventureland.

Goff played banjo and would occasionally play with The Firehouse Five Plus Two, a Dixieland Band made up of Disney Studio employees. The Band would occasionally perform at Disneyland.

If so, it's a shame, because it is one of my favorite attractions and one worthy of having experienced CMs. My friend was, a believe a five year veteran or more before he was terminated.
I'll respond to this a little bit since I've just left the park. As Techskip stated, turnover is horrendous, not only that, management has started a crackdown on non-scripted spieling. Most of this (from the official standpoint) is due to legal concerns (i.e. offending the wrong person or using copyrighted material). Some of us have been nailed multiple times for stuff, but those that had seniority on the dock would continue to use it just because we could.

    Just thought I'd chime in.

Since you mentioned Bill Evans: here's my favorite Bill Evans story

The day before opening, Bill told Walt they weren't going to have all of the landscaping done, so the two men went around the park putting latin tags on all the weeds to make it look like they were planted that way.

And I had heard that the tree removal story, even though it made it into the 50th movie, is NOT true after all, just a story that was so good and told so many times that by now it's taken as fact. The moving of Adventureland WAS because the eucalyptus trees were there, NOT because the trees that were supposed to stay on the east side accidentally got removed.

Very cool story about the tree - I had forgotten about the story of it having to stay on site.

Anyone (Techskip?) have some information or stories about how things changed when there was the separate division for narration attractions?
