At WDW and TDL... Splash has 3 other drops... One before you go indoors. One after encountering the Brer Bear and Fox trying to capture Rabbit, and then one more drop into the fountain area before going up hill to the big drop. If I recall well... DL's version only has two indoor drops. Someone correct me.
I know that there is the big drop in Splash Mountain but how many of the little drops are there?
The drops I can remember are one sizeable one outside and one tiny one that can't really be considered a "drop" more than it is just a decline to keep the water flowing.
There is also one indoors that's completely dark and this one is interesting because you go back up it just as fast as you drop down. Since it's pitch black, I still haven't been able to figure out how they send you up a hill as fast as they drop you, but I'm thinking the drop doesn't have any water at all...it's probably more like those "rollers" big warehouses use to send packages down a ramp. I think that the drop and uphill movement is all one big set of rollers. That's just my theory, I actually have no idea how they do it.
The minor drops are about on the intensity level of Pirates of the Carribbean, it's the final one that you have to watch out for.
!!!NOTE THIS IS COULD BE A SPOILER IF YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN ON THE RIDE!!!
okay so... so get on the log and you go up a converbelt... than down a little dip (note: not a drop)... you cross infront of the big drop... go up another belt... and another dip... around... down a drop (1) inside the ride... go under brer rabbit on train tracks and down a dip... see brer rabbit laughing and see brer bears behind... down a drop (3) ( dont hit water) up and then a dip (debaitable)... through the laughing place... up the last belt... and down the big drop (3)...
“The press [should be] a watchdog. Not an attack dog. Not a lapdog. A watchdog. Now, a watchdog can't be right all the time. He doesn't bark only when he sees or smells something that's dangerous. A good watchdog barks at things that are suspicious.” – Dan Rather
I believe Dip Drop is the roller coaster type drop, which I would consider the third drop. Drops 2 and 4 are the very short drops (they are meant to simulate rapids), with 4 being in the middle of the Laughing Place scene (that drop is, indeed, much greater at WDW).

The drop is 52.5 feet for each of DL and WDW, according to scottware.
scottware also claims that DL's is longer than WDW's, but the time is shorter, and the total amount of acreage of DL is 1/4 that of WDW.
