in January.
Although BPB was never one of my favorite parades that Disney put on, I will miss it fondly. If for nothing more than to see the smile on my partner's face. He loves it. At least when we (tentativly) go back to the parks in September he'll be able to see it one last time.
I just hope that whatever "replaces" BPB will be good and not some cheap production.
...Joe...
Oh...Never went to one
Don't worry, we'll hide you where there is nobody around for miles, Disney's California Adventure!

Be sure to watch my September 11th Tribute!
I went to my first one last week.. it was pretty cool.. I only caught the last half of it though.. everyone watching was dancing around and getting into it..
I wonder what they are think of replacing it with..
DISNEYLAND: It even makes science geeks look cool!!
there replacing it with a new pixar parade, im not kidding i read it somewhere by Al or on blue sky disney. Im kind of excited because i dont really care for the block party bash and id like to see Cars' cars driving down the parade route and some incredibles fighting and some ratatouille!
That's lame. Where did you hear it?
I mean, I know there's been the rumor of it closing/moving for a while but I had never heard an actual date
BPB is a very fun high energy parade. You really can't help but move when you watch it and cheer for those CMs dancing their butts off for over 40 minutes in crazy CA heat.
I'm sad to see it go unless it's replaced by something equally awesome
While the performers deserve recognition for their hard work (they really do get into it, even in the heat), Block Party Bash is a poor excuse for a Disney parade. Incredibly tacky, a terribly grating soundtrack, and totally out of character for Pixar's films. I'll be glad to see it go.
Hopefully a proper replacement will come soon enough.
The performers in this "parade" are amazing! But I am so glad to hear that it will be gone soon!
Its never good to having something CLOSE without an Announced replacement....

Wow, I *am* out of touch... I thought it had closed already. I guess I'll have to get over there to see it then. Kept meaning to, but I rarely cross the esplanade unless lunch is involved.
Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...
Am I alone in seriously disliking parades that stop and stay in place for ten minutes while the performers awkwardly try to pretend they're doing something? BPB is a good example of this. The current classic-Disney themed amalgam parade that currently runs through the park is another example. Okay, that one has some good elements to it, but it still stops. And the performers don't do much that they weren't doing while the parade was moving.
I think this was one of the key reasons why Light Magic didn't work, but then I know there was a thread recently exploring that idea.
Now the Mulan Victory Parade - that one was great. Loved it. It never stopped, had acrobats, a great soundtrack, and also belonged to the tradition of having a parade with a singular theme created just for a certain time and happening (unlike current parades, rides, and "Disney Parks" merchandise which can be mass-produced and sold or intalled in any park or shopping mall).

The performers do work really hard and I think the floats are pretty cool. And now we lose it so they can have it in Florida. That's fine with me as long as we get a parade of equal or greater value. One thing I will say is that so far Disneyland hasn't fallen into the hole of needing to take parades from other parks like they do at WDW and I hope it stays that way. To quote Gareth from the UK Office, "I don't do sloppy seconds."
